I was excited to play this one, a janky firefighter simulator is a great idea!

In playing it though, I think it was a bit TOO janky. For starters making a multiplayer game is commendable for SBIG, though frankly I think that part should've been axed and more focus put on the actual gameplay.

I can seemingly only pick up people if they're facing upright, but I can't really just easily yeet them to the safe zone because they very easily clip through the fire engine and off the map. That being said, the yeeting itself is fun!

I also liked being able to smack down the doors with the axe, I don't know if it was intentional but the first time I chopped a door down my character did a sort of spin move to do it which was hilarious.

As far as I can tell the firehose doesn't work which is unfortunate. And seemingly the little meter at the bottom is also non-functional?

This was a great concept, just held back by some bugs and I honestly think some misplaced effort.

Still a fun experience though, good work!

This was really cool! Didn't expect to see a multiplayer entry this year!

Yeeting people was quite fun - I would have liked the fire engine to have been solid so I could bounce people off of them, but that's just a small thing! Other than that I couldn't put out any fires, but who needs to do that when firefighting 🤷‍♀️

Solid entry! Well done!

First things first - I commend your bravery, making a multiplayer game for SBIGJam! (did that myself back in 2021, so I know all too well how much of a pain in the arse Unity can be for multiplayer games)

But I will admit that there are some aspects of this game which just make it rather unfun to play.

Firstly - I’d strongly suggest putting an invisible wall around the playable area. It’s way too easy to accidentally yeet someone out of bounds, which, ofc, results in a softlock (and needing to close the whole game and start again).

Secondly - is it even possible to put out the fires? Just feels a bit discouraging trying to get rid of a fire in my way but there’s no indication that the fire extinguisher is actually doing anything.

Still, I appreciate the concept, and I genuinely am impressed to see that you got multiplayer working within the jam timeframe.

I don't know what I was expecting, but "incredibly cursed firefighter simulator" was not it. Definitely a pleasant surprise, though!

I'm not sure what's up with all the "lobby" stuff up front. Is it real multiplayer? It's not really explained how it's supposed to work, and it was pretty confusing to actually get playing the game.

For better or for worse, it's incredibly cursed and janky. You don't put down bodies, you throw them in a way that wrenches camera control away from you and is liable to toss them right off the map. Fires kinda push you away, and the extinguisher seems to do nothing, though the axe does work. The graphics are very simple and somewhat weird, the particle effects are excessive, and the UI is confusing and weirdly positioned. Is this so bad it's good? I think so!

I made it to the level where you need to rescue 7 people, and it seems you actually do need to rescue all 7. I managed to get 6, figured I might have missed with one, picked them up again to try to reposition them, and then the game crashed. Honestly, for a SBIG Jam game that's not the worst ending in the world.

The sound design is pretty barebones, and I sorta see what the intent was with memes and exaggerated effects but it just doesn't feel excessive to me.
