If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
I wasn't really focusing on the excessive sound design, but I'd say a lot of the sound effects are misbalanced, especially if multiple sources are synced up

Any additional information for voters?
I have worked on this game almost 10 hours a day, but since I can't willingly make a bad game, I decided instead that I want to make it frustrating by design (although not too much). It's probably going to be really difficult to play for a casual Joe.

Aside from that, almost no testing has been done with other people

Ok this is WAAAAY to polished to be So Bad Its Good lol. Of course if I had to choose between a game being too good to be SBIG or too bad, I'd choose the former.

The movement is really polished, and combat feels very juicy! Especially being able to juggle the enemies in air. However I'm not too good at either, so I didn't make it past the first enemy encounter 😅

If there had been a checkpoint right before that first enemy encounter I'd keep trying, but having to restart the whole game multiple times was too much. And I saw in the description you focused on making the game frustrating by design, which imo is the least enjoyable type of SBIG game. Mind you I never liked frustrating games much to begin with so that's just me.

But finishing what you did in just 9 days is incredibly impressive! And it's definitely the most polished SBIOG entry I've ever played!

Excellent work!

This game looks and feels so good! I really like the atmosphere, and the lighting works so well! I think the platforming physics are pretty on point, and the fighting mechanics are very  very satisfying!

With that said this game is *difficult* and I did struggle a lot with some of the platforming sections to a point where I couldn't progress. I think getting  the difficulty balance right in jam games is very hard:  especially since there is a range of abilities, and not a lot of time for someone to sit down and spend several hours on a single game. With that said, I think for the type of people that like this sort of challenge, it definitely feels fair and limited by your co-ordination, rather than having any cheap or frustrating shots.

Sound is very good and fits well with the atmosphere! Honestly getting all of this done within the 9 days is an achievement, and this is certainly one of the most polished games in the jam!

Well done on submitting!

Very fun fighting game!

I love the style of this game, and the control mechanism is very cool and fun! The art is awesome, and the sound design is really good as well.

Like others have said, I do wish the game was more forgiving. I got fairly far into it and died to an enemy encounter which ended my whole game. Restarting the whole game was too much for me to bear, so I subsided.

I do also wish the teleport mechanic functioned differently. Having so many different types of teleport in one (i.e. teleporting up, down, to a target, etc.) made it difficult to move exactly the way I wanted to be moving.

I can tell that there’s a great game buried in here - only problem is that it’s buried under the contrived artificial difficulty (the lack of checkpoints etc).

It’s a shame, really, because I genuinely would want to be able to experience the full game. However, repeating all of the content after dying is a bit of a mood-killer.

Controls are kinda hard, but game is very cool. I can't get it to the end because game closes each time you die, but it seems there is a ton of content I missed. I want to play complete version of this game, if you are going to finish it later.

Very cool

I thought this looked fun as soon as I saw it. I was not disappointed! Clearly you've played a bunch of fighting games because it really shows. The graphics are amazing as well!

Insane how good you made this in 9 days, game is tight with lots of cool movement tech, even easter eggs.
I don't think setting the SFX to be misbalanced (on purpose?) is a great choice even given the theme but you can adjust them in settings so it's all good, this game is for sure in the wrong jam, but I can't even rate you down too much for it, seriously slaps.
