Streamed this game today, loved it. The visuals are fantastic and I hope we can get an ending to this one. I'll definitely revisit if there is a conclusion!

Thank you so much! I see you are a man of culture Mango! Frieren is such a good anime! And I am so happy you were able to enjoy Yoki! I am already working on a big update and fixing a few bugs some players reported!  If you have any suggestions or complaints im all ears! Thanks again for the cool stream I really enjoyed hearing your reactions!

I love the visuals, the style, and the mood of this game. I played it multiple time to get some bad endings - the mushroom guy reminded me of WORLD of HORROR and its crazy endings, awesome job with that haha.

Speaking of art, the eerie aspect of everything was particularly charming. The red forest,  the city, the characters and their looks, they all seem to dance with the ineffable, like there's something darker and unexplainable happening around that you just can't grasp.

I almost think that the first "bad" ending -which is just to keep fighting and eventually die, to be consumed by nature - seems blissful, in a way.

The storytelling is intriguing, and it makes me want more: What happens next? Will they overcome the masked man in the realm of dreams? What's with the empress? Also, I think being trapped under endless masks seems something really relatable for a lot of people, myself included. At which point are we ourselves, and not a mere simulation of our surroundings and foreign expectations? But I digress. Great job with this one, definitely one of my favorites.

I am just as much as a maniac when it comes to storytelling! I really enjoying picking apart stuff and their meaning, a lot of the content in the game had a lot more that I had to cut out due to time, But I am hoping on fleshing out the characters further, especially their motivations and main branching stories with the purpose of giving it a more satisfactory conclusion.

Is a high praise being compared to World of Horror is one of my favorite aesthetic games including MILK INSIDE A BAG OF MILK which is one of my main inspirations for making games!

I think the themes of life and death are always really intriguing to explore as well as the themes behind dreams and the subconscious mind.

If you have any suggestions or advice I am all ears!

As a non-visual novel player, I’ll have to say really well done! Even more for a jam!

The music perfectly matches the moody feel of the story, the sprite/artwork with the details but the sometimes sketchy feel also emphasis the discontent of the mood.

Only got one ending but will come back for the others as well! Well done!

What a beautiful looking game. The style, colour-scheme, and just the strange personality of the story were all great.

Awesome arts and immersive story. My favorite narrative game of the jam yet. Died at first choice but made better decisions after aha

Developer

I am so happy you got that in the first run, for some reason it was one of my favorite scenes to draw XD hopefully i can expand and make it more satisfying in the long run! THank you for the feedback!

I liked the art!

Thank you so much <3

This is a beautiful and visually appealing VN.  I replayed it twice just to see all of the artwork you've put in here. The pacing feels a bit rushed but I was still captivated by the end of Chapter 4. Hope to see you continue with it because you got me hooked with that cliffhanger! I want to know what happens next with Yoki and friends!

Developer(+1)

Man yeah the cliffhanger was so evil XD I really want to exapand on it and make it a more complete version hopefully by then it gets to the point I really wanted it to, I felt it still lacked a lot more characterization, I know the golden rule of show dont tell XD and i felt it needed more of that! Thanks for the feedback it helps a lot with the development!

As always I was immediately charmed by your entry  Lemi! I think this one has some of the best animation you have ever done, really full of personality. The mask sequence might have been one of my favourite scenes in any of your games so far.

Developer

Thank you so much Luke! Man I wanted to expand so much with the mask scene and hopefully ill be able to make the complete vision of what I wanted! Thanks for the feedback it really helps!

In terms of presentation and style, you had this game down pat. It looks impressive and the animations that were done were all very well presented.

I am quite impressed. The story is definitely taking into quite the unique direction, focusing on post war life of a samurai and meeting with a lady called Yasashii Fumiko amidst all the interesting developments of advisor politics, wizards, alternating masks and the horrors within Yume (in japanese it means dreams). Yoki is definitely an interesting samurai and one where he has to face the shame of running from the precipice of war. Should this game be polished, it will definitely attract a wider target audience considering how consistent and unique the style is.

Overall experience for me was intrigued but its mostly lukewarm. I enjoyed the presentation and the story despite the near non-existent gameplay (which to me was fine since this is preferable to frustrating gameplay for me anyways).

Developer

Man a great description and you saw a lot of the themes I was hiding behind the veil! I didn't have enough time to polish it but hopefully I can add more interactive things and make it more entertaining without it being frustrating! thanks for the feedback!

Amazing I think you stepped up the art antics for this one! Those animations are so smooth, the story was very interesting and the mask scene was so good! I hope there can be a little more story to see what happens to the hero! Great work as always! : )

Developer

Thank you so much! I am hoping I can expand on the story with the mask and the relationship with the Empress and Yoki there is so much I had to cut out but I was hoping at least with what I showcased I would be able to provide at least a bit of a satisfying experience for a jam. Hopefully I will be able to add more and make it more complete!

Honestly, I think u should win the Jam. The Visuals are good, the stoy is super interesting, the sounds are very good... Personally, if this was on Steam I would buy it without hesitation. I wanna play more and Its so good to know that already exists interesting proposals like this one.

I advise you to publish it on Steam, what a good job! :) (Srry for the english level)

Super kind words! They are really inspiring for me! I've been wrestling with the idea of starting out a steam page for some time now.

I really would like to bring fuller experiences and more interesting characters so maybe it's time! Thank you so much for your support and for enjoying the game!
