Streamed this game tonight.

Some good bullet shooting fun. Lots of enemy sprties, great looking mecha samurai and a boss to boot.

I like gamejams that have a clear defined game play loop and an ending you can get to, always feels satisfying to beat.

Keep it up and join the bullethell game jam next time you'd probably enjoy it!

Thanks for streaming my little game!  Glad you enjoyed it too! There's plenty more I'd add if I had more time, but I did kinda want to try some more good bullet hell mechanics for my next go around.

Thanks again!

The gundam style mech character looks pretty cool. Game is a bit hard to play though. Cooldown between the attacks are too long and i can't tell if i damage the enemies or not, there's no feedback. Btw which game engine is this, scratch? Good job anyways if it's one of your earlier projects. Good luck

Yeah, there's a lot I would definitely like to add if I'd had more time.  It was actually made in gamemaker 2! And though I've been dabbling in programming and whatnot, this is my second official jam entry.  Thanks for playing!

You had me at samurai mecha shmup ^^ The hero is very convincing and I could imagine myself scrolling through his world ^^ Regarding the play mechanic, doing a shmup with big sprite is doable:

- sword slash could reflect bullet to damage ennemies

- if you have a big ship/hero, you should have a BIG shot (possibly transparent like a cascade of water^^)

Very very solid graphically, character design is there :)

Thank you!  I definitely would liked to have done more attack mechanics; combos with bigger beam effects, the last hit parrying bullets back at enemies, maybe contra style powerups.  At some point I might go back and do more with this one. XD

Thanks again for playing!

Fun to have a mech samurai game!

Many thanks!

Enjoyable, got through the whole game. The boss is pretty cool. I think it's worth working on animations and adding the ability to spend accumulated money.

Developer

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Adding a shop would definitely be something I'd like to try in my next project!

Fun little game! I really dig the design for the Samurai mech. I managed to get to the end to face the mecha crab boss!

Overall the game was nice but the enemies were a little too bullet-spongey. I don't think I was really able to kill that many before they off flew screen. Adding some power-ups would be a nice touch to add in the future!

Thanks, glad you liked it!  The exp drops are supposed to eventually increase attack (and other stats), but I didn't add any explanation in the game for that (lack of planning on my part due to time crunches, sadly) so it's a bit of an invisible mechanic. Power ups would definitely be a good addition!

I love the samurai mech - made me think of ZOE, but with more crab battles. The boss was pretty cool. Nice work!

Thank you! Glad it was enjoyable!
