A beautifully written and well designed GM-less game for two that uses a block tower mechanic to tell deep and emotional stories about what it means to work together despite impending doom.
ech0 is a work of art. i think it can sometimes be difficult to find any form of levity in the aftermath of war and the tragedy of a restless mech pilot, seeking the ruins of their mech; but to capture these moments through the concentrated seriousness of children who may or may not yet understand the original purpose of their playground, trying to satisfy an insatiable curiosity... it's a gorgeous treatise on how the memories twist and fade when passed through generations. and it's just generally fun to play children arguing over the ghost of a fallen mech pilot and drawing a map showing a playground-battleground.
A mech battling game focused only on the consequences of battle and not the battle itself is, frankly, genius. Play when you want to be sad.
