Love the contrast system and the planetary gravity, its a really neat way to think about the theme and shows a real level of technical skill with the engine. That said I didn't really find it that engaging to be honest - I'm not entirely sure why, perhaps its just not my type of game - in any case its pretty darn cool, I think you have nailed the brief!
Update - maybe some kind of person talking to you and you are talking back to - just to give the game some context, grounding or some other dimension beyond what is in front of you. Just a thought!

Really interesting idea! Quite tense gameplay, would be great to see expanded!
Very nice game, well done! Somehow I fell all the way down into space the first time I started the game, so I wasn't sure what was going on, but the second try it went well. Love the graphics style and had a fun time playing the game. Great job!
Great game.. I agree it would be nice if the horizontal mouse was more sensitive. I had a smile on my face the whole time I played it. The graphics are really unique and spooky and using the scroll wheel to adjust the contrast looks fantastic.
One of my favorites of the jam. The setting is awesome and the gameplay is very fun and slightly terrifying. It scared the life out of me hearing the enemies approaching. My only gripe was how clunky and bad feeling the camera was as I had to swipe my mouse across my desk multiple times to turn around, but that's easily fixable.
