Carthago delenda est! Si vis pacem, para bellum.
The "theme" of this jam is anything involving the historical Roman Empire (or the Roman Republic before it).
The rules are simple, as follows:
- You must use Twine to create your game.
- Games can be created anytime before the jam, anytime during the jam, but not after the jam is over.
- Your game's complexity is immaterial. Plot matters. Historical relevance matters. Size and depth of scope do not matter.
- Tell a good story, no matter how simple, and make sure at least the character's names are of real people in Rome (or the Empire/Republic), or they sound like real peoples' names (if for instance you are doing it on the lives of everyday people living in Herculaneum during the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius)... you'll be fine.
- You cannot use the setting of an alternative history plot.
- You cannot use "steampunk" technology, as industry wasn't invented around the time of the Roman Empire.
- Openly borrowing subject matter from conspiracy theories & modern religious theologies, will get you kicked out of this game jam.
Thanks in advance for your participation!
