Nice! I managed to escape after playing for about 15 minutes. Overall a fun escape-platformer game! The polish is pretty nice; the geometrical shapes of the level are clean and pretty. The start menu is also satisfying to look at.  The objective and controls are crystal clear from the introduction! The character and enemy sprites are pretty nice, and the character's animation is smooth. The music and sounds were pretty cool and fitting too, definitely got 80's horror movie vibes from the music. The controls were occasionally unresponsive and resulted in getting swarmed and overwhelmed by enemies. The shoot to slow down enemies mechanic is an awesome idea for this game because there are a ton of enemies towards the end, however I felt like I was more punishing than rewarding to shoot towards the end because the player's movement pauses for the shoot animation to finish, I had to use every second to move towards the end there with the amount of enemies chasing me.  I totally got an adrenaline rush towards the end seeing an army of robots chasing me! Overall , pretty awesome game!

Whoa, that's pretty quick! Thank you for playing!

I think this game's strong points are the visuals, audio, and camera. The 2D/3D mix was implemented nicely and the sound effects were also nice. Great work!

Nice concept! As everyone commented already, the controls are a bit clunky. I understood the need of shooting the drones, but when the swarm is too big, shooting only delays myself (the character stops running for a few frames with each shot), and that's an instant game over.

Nevertheless, I played 4 rounds and I enjoyed every one of them! Congrats <3

I love the 2D/3D Graphics me and my brother tried to make a MetroidVenia like this once.

I liked very much your game it's super fun, the movements are a little bit clunky but i understand that you had a limited amount of time.

PS: If you are willing to make this into a MetroidVenia you have my money

Hello, let's talk about the game. I like the mixture of 2D and 3D, but the game has a problem. I got stuck in walls a couple of times and movement in general feels unresponsive, sometimes I even glided in mid air. Anyway, I'm confused why shooting is a mechanic in this game, when the drones are indestructible, unless there's something at the end of the game. I didn't get that far ahead. Never mind that meaningless rant and the controls, this is a cool project, well done.

Developer

Yeah, the movement is not refined yet. Shooting is actually extremely important in the game, though. Shooting at a drone delays them a bit, and you know that you can't outrun them. You can shoot at them at choke points on the level to buy a lot more time; I don't think it's possible to get far without shooting. Thanks for playing!

I wish there where better controls... Very great game apart from that!

I love the music and the graphic is appealing. Maybe you could make the character look to where your mouse is. The controls did not work as intended when next to walls.

Also , why not make them drones destroyable?

Developer

Yeah, spent enough time trying to get the physics right, but still really bad nonetheless... as for the drones... the point of the jam is to have a lot of them. Difficulty really ramps up quickly as the drones gathered, preventing camping. That system was what I could make in the short amount of time. Thank you for playing!

Do you have a Linux build? I ran the game in Wine and all I got was black screen after the menu. I think the game was still running, I heard sound effects.

Developer

Ah, sorry! As of now, I think it only works in Windows. I'll try to update it later.

The game is good, i like the music and feel, but the controls are a bit weird, sometimes i try to jump and it doesn't same for moving sideways, it happens also that i am stuck in walls.

That sure is an issue. Thanks for noting!
