The music and feel of the game are amazing. It has a very relaxed exploratory vibe. I love the juxtaposition of an ancient myth with what feels like a futuristic distant planet. The layer switching mechanic was neat and worked well, although I found the layers a little hard to distinguish during the purple on yellow level.

The game was a lot of fun, and the music was amazing! The art was very simple but still looked great and captured the scenery well. Overall, a very enjoyable experience!

What an atmosphere! Love your approach to this theme, reminds me of the newer Donkey Kong games (some of my favorite parts were where you jumped back and forth between planes like Orpheus does). Having the music be one steady melody with an evolving instrument depending on your progress is an awesome choice that fits this game very well. The color schemes were great and the geometric nature of the backgrounds was quite pleasing. Nice tie-in to Greek mythology at the end.  When I first descended into the underworld, I was on the back layer and entered an endless fall right through the terrain, but luckily it looped me back to the top of the screen and I was able to jump to the foreground and continue normally. A simple but well-executed game, great job guys!

Thank you so much, a lot of people seem to have this issue of falling through the ground. This is because I had to make the colliders less stable to increase performance (among some other specific problems caused by this choice that I write about in other comments). Thank god I put that barrier there incase other people had that problem (I encountered it only once for myself). Thank you for playing!

Just like other person in the comment i glitched in the ground but managed to get out, apart from that, excelent game, loved it, great music and idea. Also realy liked the text sfx in the end, im curious on how to make it.

Thank you! Sorry to hear about your problem, this seems different from the other one. This is likely due to some failure of detecting if the player is inside the other layer or not, probably on sharp corner and such. I will look into it. The dialogue script I wrote splits a string into an array of chars, I then run a loop (coroutine) where I add the char onto the text box, and every time it adds that char, it plays a 0.05s soundfile. you also need to have some sort of waiting time before you run the next iteration. Thank you for playing!

The art looks so sick!! I like the hadestown reference. Aside from that I got glitched into one of the layers and had to spam to get out. The game is really well done though!!! I loved the sound design.

Thank you! I'm not surprised about that bug to be honest, I know the reason for it! Funny that I decided on not fixing it since I thought people would be layerjumping often enough for it to not matter. It would be hard to find a fix since the easy fix tanks performance. Thank you for the feedback and the compliments!

the bug is now fixed!

Well that was very trippy. You certainly captured the feel of descending into Hades very well. It felt a bit like Journey expect not 3d and shorter. Music  was very nice as well was a relaxing peaceful experience.

The amazing thing as well although simple looking (less is often more) and obscure graphics you mastered a very artistic look. Very different but like the game Another World on Amiga if you look it up that game is amazing and cinematic even with limited shading although they used rotoscoping i guess which helped.

Also although we were a ball you very much almost sold me at the end that we were Orpheus.

Very well done it was like a mini art piece!

Thank you so much! I've certainly improved at doing art, but only because I try to limit myself to concepts that aren't so hard, like 2D billboard like graphics with simple shapes. This limitation breeds creativity in that it makes it easier to get a bit more experimental, weird and artsy. Thank you for playing!
