Overview:

Polearms have dominated historical battlefields, offering great reach and multitude of other advantages. Spears are both one of the oldest and the most effective weapons in history. Numerous other types of polearms saw use throughout history. And we can't forget the mounted knights charging with their lances. Yet despite their great effectiveness and  overwhelming usage in the past, they are now vastly overshadowed by various types of swords as the weapon of choice for heroes in contemporary media. Spears are now wielded mostly by common mooks whom the sword-wielding heroes effortlessly mow down with their awesome runic blades of +10 to awesomeness. If they show up at all. Other types of polearms are even more rare.

It is time to give polearms their due. Forget swords, now it's the time for the humble spear to shine! And also pikes, lances, halberds, bardiches and others. For now is the time to make a game themed around them in 31 days!

Without further ado, the THEME of this game jam is POLEARMS!
