Aaaaah, this is how I find out I have anxiety about waiting in line. Still, anxiety aside, this was pretty entertaining with a good ending.

Truly captured the experience of being stuck in a long line. The music is incredible! If this were ever expanded, I'd love to hear perhaps additional rockin' tunes, or conversion to a loop instead of a full track that repeats. I was expecting muzak - was incredibly pleasantly surprised. Additional random dialog or perhaps improved rng to display existing dialog combos would be helpful as well. Surprisingly fun experience with a great ending. Thank you for the submission!
Thank you for the review! Yes I noticed a lot of the random dialog repeats, I'm not sure why to be honest 😅 I have random dialog in all my games and it's always been a problem so I definitely need to figure it out. Maybe I'll ask on the discord.
I did think about using elevator music but in the end went with something more epic to suit the occasion 😜 Glad you enjoyed it! And good shout on getting a loop. I wish I knew more about audio engineering because I wanted it to fade in at the beginning but having that and a loop becomes kinda tricky, at least for me.

Definently a fun and creative little game. I like how the character is technically able to skip in line slightly. It would be funny if the player was able to do this for the entire line.
Suggestions/criticism
- I sometimes found the text bubbles to disappear too fast before I could read them. It would be nice for them to linger just a little bit longer before they disappeared.
- I felt like the ending the player could have used the directional pad or the crank to advance the little comic strip.
- it would be fun if there were little minigames that the player could play to pass the time while standing in line. Such as trying to balance a ball, but the player could lose the ball and if they go after it they would have to step out of line and then get back in the back. Alternatively someone could be kind enough to give them back their ball. Also with minigames it would be funny if the player got so engrossed in them that the line then moved forward and people started to pass you in line.
Overall a great little experience that wasted my time (much like many lines do), Great work overall and I know the wait was worth it!

I would have also liked to see the player character having more movement like tapping their foot or just being impatient in general.
Thanks for the comprehensive feedback- I really appreciate it. Those are great suggestions. I'll bump up the timing and add controls for the ending comic to the next non-jam release.
In regards to the minigames, I totally agree. I did want to add something like that but it pushed the scope of the project too high for the jam- I initially thought of the player having to do something on their phone (playing flappy bird, doom scrolling, swiping on tinder etc) while in the line, and having to manage that and shuffling up at the same time. I think it would have made it more "game"-y as it actually would've added some sort of competitive element. I like your idea of playing with a ball even more, and the complexity would probably be less for that. Definitely something to consider as a future upgrade.
I also dig the idea of the player tapping their foot in line lol. I'll see if I can find the time to animate that and add it to the next release too.

I'm glad I could provide some suggestions! and yeah I agree that minigames would have taken a lot of time to develop for the game jam. I still think this game is still really well polished.
This game is somehow more fun than it has any right to be, but I WILL give shit to everyone who doesn't use the crank, sorry.

Funny idea and funnier execution - especially the ending! Not being sure how long it will take really helped sell that feeling of actually being stuck in a queue. It would have been nice to use the crank to (awkwardly) shuffle forwards.

Very clever and fun game! My first run I accidentally cut in line and didn't realize until I got to the end, but that's my fault because I didn't realize when everyone was saying "get in line" they were talking to me haha. I had a lot of fun with this one. The art is so good, the music is catchy and fun, the dialogue is relatable and funny. Overall very clever and creative use of the prompt. Very well done! 🧍🧍🧍

this is so well executed, the music is excellent and the art is lovely. There’s some nicely detailed work at the end and the whole thing is really visually well balanced.
when I was following the screenshots of this one on twitter I had imagined having to use the crank to move which for some reason fits better in my head than the D-Pad. It feels more laborious to me I guess and that fits well with the joke. That’s more personal opinion, though! nice work
I really like that idea. Movement is only on one axis so the crank could definitely be used, and it would be quite a simple change. I'll see if I can add it for the non-jam version.

nice! Wonderful music. Graphics very good recognizable fit osuikaa style games! I couldnt figure out the crank but i like the professionalism here. Reminds me of a game in airport where people scanned for certain items/suitcases. Keep up fun QUEUE simulator!
