- I didnt really see any relation to the shadow or alchemy themes. the game crashed when clicking the first totem/relic. Its a puzzle game which is always interesting. The art (including sound) wasnt super special but still nice.

Made for the 2024 Pirate Software Game Jam. Power Word: Quest is a dungeon crawling puzzle game where you, the bardliest of bards, use the power of language to interact with the environment in novel ways.
The core mechanic is the ability to "absorb" items in the environment. Absorbing an item gives the player the ability to cast spells using it's essence.
With the "Place" ability, you can create copies of items to place them on a pressure switch or even drop magical grenades.
With the "Missile" ability, absorbed items are launched forward in the direction of the mouse, which can be used to activate remote switches or for combat.
To ready a spell, hold the right mouse button and cast it with the left mouse button. Spells can be toggled with the number keys.
Clicking some items when in range allows the player to interact with them or even pick them up and move them around the room.

Hey Guys. I was stupid and accidentally deleted it during the voting hours. Here's a reupload for those interested in playing it. https://jakeflynn.itch.io/power-word-quest-actually-uploaded
Nothing is changed from the original, but I accept the consequences if this disqualifying.
Super neat game, picking things up to solve puzzles was super cool. I had to restart many times from bugs haha since i had no idea what i was doing
Hey Thanks! I like your game a lot too! Really cool art style! I definitely wanted to add a tutorial to the game, but I ended up too pressed for time. I'm glad you enjoyed it none the less.
