Interesting, I initially had the idea for making our game fully turn-based, but went with a half/half instead.
Having limited controls makes the game simple/easy to play, but with the upgrade system interesting to try out different methods to play the game.
Here's a few things to add/improve;
These are all points that would be nice to have.
The game is nicely made, the audio is also befitting the game's setting.
Good job.
Thanks for the feedback and saying what you appreciated!
Thanks for playing our little game and for the feedback. I really like the idea of having a toggle skip action animations.
I loved the main menu and the pixel art animation went. It is very close to the blender pixelart animation technique used for deadcells. But really cool concept in all.
I would like to see whose turn it is. Like showing on the screen how many actions I have and show when is the enemy's turn.
But overall, great job!!
That main menu is a thing of beauty. Love the visual style of the characters, awesome theme.
Character and Enemy art look amazing, as well as the cover and menu art! I think that with a little more UI, it would be a bit more clear how many actions you get (seemed like two) and damage done etc. For the most part, everything worked very well, aside from the occasional enemy pathfinding being a little janky. This is a fantastic prototype, and with a bit more time, it could be a fantastic game! Great job on getting this submitted.
Thanks for the feedback. I should have clarified that hovering over the health bar showed the player's stats. I did not have time to add enemy stats... I did not know what to do for the enemy movement when they were not aggro so I just had them pick random spots. Thanks for the feedback and encouragement :)
