  • I did not understand how the game works, might have been good for a ingame tutorial. The art style is alright. The music is very loud, would be nice to have the ability to change volume. I did not see any of the themes for the jam. I look forward to seeing what you create for the next Jam!

Did you include your Game Design Document as a Google Drive link?
Yes

Seriously... did you include your Game Design Document?
Yes, in-game link to the GDD and in the itch.io page for my game, you can download it.

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes.

Tell us about your game!
Heroes Guild is a guild about teaching ambitious solo developers crucial lessons in over-scope.

No but seriously, I had way more planned for this, and though the core idea with the AI and progression is there, it's seriously lacking in so many other departments. That being said, the information I've learned about State Machines means I've been successful in this jam, even before submitting. I have to fold after a 36-hour stint, I'm burnt out, fatigued and ready for bed.

Basically, you manage students, complete their lessons for them, and then they become heroes. There's an upgrade system, randomised hero generation. Nowhere near some of the stuff I wanted in the GDD. I am really bad at following the GDD too, which I will work on more.

Extra Notes
Thank you Pirate Games for hosting this awesome and insightful Jam, A* themes, just wish I could have implemented them.
