  • I found learning the controls for your game to be the toughest part of my experience playing. While a unique approach to use more than just WASD, but also QEZC, I found it a bit tough to remember all the controls to ensure I had the proper direction when either moving or casting the right spell to avoid the guards. It was fun to learn, but still a lot to remember. In regards to the themes while shadow makes perfect sense here, especially how it ties back into the controls and gameplay, alchemy feels more 'roundabout'--while you can say 'transformation' for the player character, it wasn't the first idea that came to mind when I played, so in a way, I was curious to see if there was another way this could be presented or if this is the the intention and nothing needed to be adjusted. Lastly, the artistic style; pixel are is great, and I was a fan of taking in the environment around me while having a cool character to play as and even the guards were designed nicely. The music was very fun to listen to as well, and is lowkey sticking in my head as well. Overall, very fun experience, and I definitely want to play more, so keep up the good work.
  • Overall I like the concept of the game, but the controls really hindered the experience. While in trying to create the sigils the movement was clunky and didn't quite work. I also managed to break the game by hitting the space bar right as the guard caught me and when I came out of the shadow the guards stopped moving and I could walk through the walls. Outside of the shadow, the controls worked fine, so i'm not sure why there was a need to add additional keys for controls. Overall, the game has a really intriguing concept.

Ink's shadow is a top-down stealth game in which the player has to avoid being caught by the guards and has to escape multiple levels of a dungeon.
The player can enter transmutation mode, during which they can dash leaving trails on the ground. If the trails form a valid transmutation sign, one of the abilities will trigger, giving the player powerful effects.
The controls are:
WASD to move
ESC to pause
TAB to check the abilities
SPACE to begin a transmutation
DURING TRANSMUTATION:
WASD for vertical and horizontal movements
QECZ for oblique movements
SPACE to interrupt an active ability early

This game has such a cool concept. I was so excited to play it, the 8 axis movement is a great idea and it worked so well. Only unfortunate that none of the abilities worked. I got past lvl 1 by just dodging the guards. In lvl 2, I did the stun exactly like you had too, in both directions, and still nothing. Just as a the lightning bolt.
If you can fix this glitches this could be a really cool game!
I would also suggest lowering/removing the ghost timer. It's not fun to wait, just let me be an overpowerd wizard please! Especially if you mess it up sometimes..

Hey thanks for the feedback! Sorry that you had problems with it, we tested it on a few browsers and it was working, not sure what went wrong in your case :/

Just to make sure, for the bolt for example you pressed SPACE to enter transmutation, then either "E", "A", "E" or "Z", "D", "Z" correct?
