  • I really like your implementation of the theme. The humor in the game was also well done. I think what fell short for me was, after becoming a shadow, the movement and puzzles of getting the ingredients in the cauldron weren't intuitive. You're onto something here. Really well done!

Shade and Conjure is a game where you play as an alchemist who accidentally turns themselves into a living shadow. The first portion of the game is simply about picking up objects and carrying them to the cauldron, at which point you transform and the mechanics change. As a shadow, you can only move inside other shadows so you must be careful with your movement to make sure you have the space you need to maneuver and reach from one shadow to the next. Since you have no physical form, you must expirement using your shadow body to shade various objects in the room and cause chain reactions to attempt to turn yourself back to normal.

Extra Notes
The text is incredibly important exposition and instructions, not just story fluff, so pay close attention to it. Also, the movement mechanics as a shadow are a little unintuitive at first, this is a design decision as I wanted to make the movement something to learn and master. It's very consistent once you get the hang of it.
