  • I liked the music and art design. I thought the jumping was way too floaty. It would also have been nice to have feedback whenever you touched/pushed the buttons. I wasn't sure if what I was doing did anything useful. Other than that -- I really like the direction of the game. Good on you!

This is a Metroid-vania game. it is a 2d, side-scrolling platformer. Future expansion will get the potions to work (in the alchemy room/room with huge pile of lead, press the "use" key to bring up the alchemy menu). Each potion will have one effect, and only one potion can be used at a time. The first potion will be the dark vision (to clear the dark room, and make the platforms visible). The dark room looks like: _-_T_-_, in case you want to see the ending (on the right side of the dark room). The main character has been tasked with retrieving the ultimate alchemical recipe from the Lead Alchemist (who ran away with it). This will be the lead-to-gold recipe (and the huge pile of lead will turn to gold in the end credits). Default controls are wads + e for use, space for jump and esc for menu. (attack isn't implemented yet). These can be re-mapped to other keyboard keys, if you prefer.
