  • The combination of these elements you have is a wonderful game that is fun to play and as a fan of roguelikes, I enjoyed it! Few things to note: I wish that the campfires would be faster to activate when you are past the first 2 dungeons. I understand you used the potion as an item to light all of them and speed up the process, but ideally, the player will want to move past the 2nd stage to get to the end faster eventually. The attacks of the enemies. I would love to see some variation, specifically, the bosses. The only boss that has the right to throw a rock is the golem, as there are pillars you can use to avoid said damage. A homing rock that is faster than the player and can hit pretty hard is not a fair attack, nor is it a skill requirement to get past it. That being said, I played through the entire thing, hope you had a good, long rest after and I hope you keep making games!

Yes

Tell us about your game!
Your parent's are gone when you wake up during a night that seems to last forever. They'd left a note though.
To find out what happened you need to:
kill monsters, get souls, fight bosses, die sometimes, put the souls in the big pot to get stronger. Put them in the small pot to get items to help you beat the bosses.
WASD : Move
1,2,3 : Use Items
Mouse: Cursor aims / LMB Attacks / RMB interacts

Extra Notes
Bugs to be aware of:
- The red potions have no effect but other potions are working
- Don't spam interact near bosses as they spawn or you might skip them!

--- Tips if you get stuck:
Each boss has a different mechanic to deal with their missile attack and different attack patterns.
Blue potions are almost essential to beat the last boss unless you're a real sweat.

If nothing else I'm proud of the sound effect for dropping a soul-stone into the pot!

Also, I spent far too much time coding the past 2 weeks. I did quite a few more hours than planned, and I desperately need a massage now as my neck is killing me.

It's been a blast though, thanks for the inspiration!

Nice one! The game is quite cute and to my taste, so that is a plus. It would really help if there was a bit more description for what needed to be done, so to reduce us guessing. But overall nice work.

Solid entry!

I like the atmosphere, especially the switch between sleeping and fighting, and waking up and managing your stats.

To be honest, it’s kinda annoying that you are almost forced to grind because of how enemy health spikes between levels. Also, the fact that you always need to hold mouth button when interacting with objects, and not just in night segments, prevents you from doing routine actions quickly.

Overall, great job!

Thanks very much! Really useful feedback!

Perhaps I should have mixed in a few earlier type monsters in the later levels so you could keep that feeling of having progressed? I had bigger ambitions for mixing types but had to simplify it to meet the deadline and fix bigger QoL things so went for the super simple reset way instead. Also I already had that feedback from a friend regarding the hold to interact so I'll definitely look at that later!
