  • this looks to me to be a great puzzle game in the making. I would have like to see you lean more into the alchemy. maybe having plants that changes to something else under certain conditions to make more advance strategies.

Tell us about your game!
An isometric puzzle game, where you goal is plant all provided plants of the given level. But simply placing them won't be enough, each plant-type has a specific elemental lighting requirement that needs to be fulfilled to finish the level. There are one or two elemental sources in a level, that will illuminate the field. Placed plants or obstacles will obscure the light for all fields behind them, which you will need to use to your advantage, to place all plants while meeting the plants requirements.

The game is pretty darn nice; it's a small little puzzler that reminded me of Spring Falls thematically and visually. Speaking of, while colors in the game are very nice, they were, at times, confusing for me :D I kept interpreting the orange of "absence of blue" as full light and getting mixed up my lights and shadows. But honestly, that's about the only critique I have for the game - it communicated clearly when plants are not thriving, their requirements were pretty easy to understand and then it was just a geometry puzzle of trying to figure out how to place them to satisfy all the constraints. Lovely brain teaser!

Still, the game has a neat concept to it and is a good achievement for a first one! Well done :)

Developer

Thanks you very much for the kind words. I do get that the light can be confusing and I'm sure there are multiple ways to improve that. But I'm glad that you enjoyed it! :D

This is a really fantastic puzzle game. Maybe a bit too smart for my dumb brain but I managed to get 5+ levels into it before it beat me.

The visuals are really nice as well as the style. It would have been nice if I could zoom in a little or had control of the camera. But it wasn't a huge deal.

The gameplay is absolutely solid but I wish I could quickly delete items by right clicking or something similar rather than having to activate delete mode with the button. A very minor issue.

I was a little confused by the light colour changing sometimes but after experimenting a little more I figured it out. It would be cool if there was a feature to hover over a tile to see the current light level to get a better understanding. But as with all things gamejam it's a time crunch!

Developer

Camera control are a good idea, will try to add it in a post-jam variation of the game! Right-clicking to delete plants should have work in this version though.

Anyway, thanks for playing my game and giving feedback!

Really creative puzzle game, cool ideas throughout. Could easily see this as a good phone puzzle game too

Developer

I heard multiple times that it might be a good phone game. Will keep that in mind when I continue working on the project and make sure, that it looks good on phone.

Thanks for the feedback and playing my game!
