  • Really cool minimalist approach! The classic horror house setting added to the theme elements is a good idea, however, the execution would need a bit more of polish. The Shadow and Horror aspects don't really intertwine as the atmosphere of the environment or the way enemies behave does not cause any sensations that would surprise or scare the player. The Alchemy element of the theme is quite elaborate, added with the investigation and interaction which is akin to old horror games, and is super lovely. I did find myself much more concerned in avoiding the 2nd enemy rather than having tiny amounts of time to understand lore or what is to be investigated. The UI also breaks quite easily for some reason while running. Would definitely like to see a more polished version.
  • I like the idea behind this game. A thief sneaking into a house to steal something is an interesting concept and there is a lot of potential there. A few things I would focus on to really help you fulfill that potential are, adding in consequences to being spotted by the guards. All they really did was chase you around and punch you, but nothing else happened. Is there supposed to be a health bar? The item menu did not work for me, and while I was able to collect things, I had no idea what they did/how to use them. What is the purpose of the candle? Would not using it help you hide from the guards? Is there a way to hide from them after being spotted? I also encountered many empty rooms and what I thought would be a crawl space, but I could not figure out how to crawl through the path. Overall the idea behind this game is solid, but many issues kept me from enjoying an exciting concept!

Extra Notes
I will try to flesh this idea out more in the future, because I like the idea I had, but I think my implementation is very lackluster. Also check out my friend's game that they submitted for the jam, it's called Night Train.

I greatly enjoyed this send up to thief with a unique twist! I hope you get to expand on the concept in the future! There is a lot of potential here.
