- Hit the theme right on the spot. The gameplay allows for a little experimentation and the encounter is just hard enough to be a real challenge. Combining the elements is pretty important but just a little too hard to do, to really be enjoyable. This could be a NES game as it is. Would be perfect for an arcade machine to squeeze every quarter out of school children and adults alike. This, but with more enemies just to learn more combinations before facing the pretty powerful angel. Soundtrack and sounds are okay.
- I found the way you presented this to be done quite well. Starting with the themes, I started to get a feel for how you implemented both shadow and alchemy into the game after playing the tutorial. From using shadows, with a bit of a limit to their function, in order to replenish your 'combat strength' was unique. Along with that, alchemy, being able to use different elements to take on enemies was one thing, but also including being able to combine them to create either special attacks when different elements, or more powerful ones when the same, was also creatively done. I was also a fan of the music (and appreciate being able to to adjust the audio before playing as well). As for the art and animation, I'd say both were done quite well, too. Would definitely return to this game to see more of the themes fleshed out--especially because the opening scene made me think there was more story to be included (unless I'm reaching here). A decent job all around, so keep up the hard work.

Shadowstepper... Light without darkness is blinding, darkness without light is a void... I bestow upon you the power of the elements. DEFEAT THE ANGEL OF LIGHT.
Use your gun to shoot elemental bullets. Shooting your elemental bullet with another elemental bullet combines them and creates an even more powerful attack with unique effects!
Hide in the shadows to avoid the Angel's attacks and to load your gun with different elements.
The Angel will adapt to your arsenal. The only way to beat the Angel is to use different elemental combinations.
In this endless fight, how far can you go?
Extra Notes
This is my first game jam and my first completed 2D game. Started game dev in March this year. I hope you enjoy the game :)
