  • Wow. I REALLY loved this, and was definitely moved by it (it made my rough day a lot better). I could see this being very cathartic for some. I feel like you shared a bit of your soul in this and it shows. I love the art, the game play is great too. My favorite mini game was the punching one! I did download the game so it ran well, but there was a bug in the witch mini game (with a&d controls) where I had to restart the game every time. I couldn't get it to work after several tries. I feel like with a bit more polish (more of an ending, music, maybe more mini games) this could be a cult classic on Steam. I adore the idea, and I hope you continue to work on it and develop games. Super proud of you, and I'm glad you got the help you need :) Keep spreading positivity!

Tell us about your game!
I took almost the whole first day to think about the theme of the jam. My first idea went to zombies or pandemic, but I didn't want to do the obvious one. So I continued thinking about it. And then it kinda hit me, while talking to my best friend about the theme.

I was just recently diagnosed with ADHD (after already being to a psychiatry, many different docs and suicide plans) and group therapy, medication and an insanely cool doc really helped me. Since then I tried to help people who suffer like me, too.

So the theme of my game was spreading positivity.
The idea is, you come up to a "person" - collide with them, and you hop in their brain, and resolve their issue (if this would only be that easy in real life).

Planned out some very flat topics, two world designs, and some mini games.
You simply move around with WASD, collide into other people, have Mini Games that work with WASD, 12345 or Mouse, and if you won, your positivity grows.
This is resembled by a light around you, that lets you see through the darkness.
This light also spreads to the person you just helped.

To sell the whole idea, the "dirty world" was kept very minimalistic and dark. Neon signs, news paper flying across the map, everything seems hostile.
If you come close to a person, who all are wearing laughing masks, you can see their real mask-emotion. Crying, Rage, ...
If you help them, they transform into a real form.
Getting closer to an masked NPC also shows their thoughts.

The "nice world" on the other hand is way more colorful and bright. A bit more chaotic and welcoming.

I hope you get the idea, and can enjoy some minutes of fun. :)

A very interesting twist to the theme of the game jam. I like the way in which you are transmitting the story of the game, but I do believe it still needs a bit pof polish. For some of the mini-games, I didn't know the objective; I believe they could be explained a bit better. Also, I don't know if it was an issue with the font or the background, but it was difficult for me to read some of the text. Again, the idea is very cool and I'd be interested to see how you expand it in the future. Good job!

PS: I played the game on the browser, I'm not downloading games for now, sorry.

First of all, thank you very much for playing my game! That makes me kinda happy, ngl <3
But jear, I completely agree. For me as the dev it is obvious what to do in the mini games, cause I made them... for people who don't have this knowledge, it is hard to understand what even to do. That was why in the last days of the jam I added little "interaction hints" to the games, to at least give  a small direction >.< better than nothing, but not really good UX vise tbh.

Same with the font, especially with the green and blue on the speech bubbels... last minute change for variation, but not very good ones >.<

Or leading / tutorial at all. Like how you even start stuff etc.

I really love UX/UI Design! You can make so many awesome things and I think it is very important for a good application! And it would absolutely be the first thing I would start polishing the game :)
