Are you ready for one of the biggest Game Development Competitions in the MENA region?

GDSC:2024 is the first edition of the Game Dev Summer Competition Hosted by Phoenician Studios.  This is a 3-month long game development competition that includes prizes throughout all sides of game development.

Phoenician Studios is an event planning, talent acquisition and investment studio that focuses on the game development industry in the MENA region. Our goal is to help developers  successfully bring their games to life, help already established studios find the talent they need while also providing game design consulting.

CIVILIZATIONS

All teams willing to join must be registered to the GDSC:2024 competition on the Phoenician Studios event page. Register your team here.
All levels are welcome, whether you are a beginner, a hobbyist or a seasoned game developer, we would love to have you participate and see your level. 

First Place Award:

• Financial Prize for the team worth $4,000.
• Up to 5 Online Learning Modules provided by Future Games Warsaw. (Worth $2000 each)
• A Badge Emblem signifying your first place award at GDSC:2024 to showcase on your game's Steam page or website.
  
• Certificates to all members of the winning team celebrating their first place prize.

Second Place Award:

• Financial Prize for the team worth $2,000.
• Up to 5 Online Learning Modules provided by Future Games Warsaw. (Worth $2000 each)
• A Badge Emblem signifying your second place award at GDSC:2024 to showcase on your game's Steam page or website.
• Certificates to all members of the winning team celebrating their second place prize.

Third Place Award:

• Financial Prize for the team worth $1,000.
• Up to 5 Online Learning Modules provided by Future Games Warsaw. (Worth $2000 each)
• A Badge Emblem signifying your third place award at GDSC:2024 to showcase on your game's Steam page or website.
• Certificates to all members of the winning team celebrating their third place prize.

Special Awards:

• Best Gameplay Award
• Best Animations Award
• Best Game Narrative Award
• Best Game Art Award
• Badge Emblems and Certificates to all members of the winning team celebrating their special award.

Although we believe in creative freedom, there are some rules to follow to ensure everyone has a pleasant experience during the competition.

• No NSFW games. You can send those to us privately ;)
• Submitted games that were made before the start of the competition will be disqualified.
• Each team is allowed only 1 game for submissions. If a team submits several games, all games will be subject to review and possible disqualification.
• You are free to use any assets as long as you have the correct license. (Please provide the links to the licenses alongside the game description)
• No asset flips or direct copies of other established games are allowed.
• The games should not contain any malicious content (malware etc.)
• Any game engine can be used to create your game.
• Teams participating in the event can include up to 5 members. The team must be registered on the event registration website. Please check registration above for more details. Any game that has a team larger than 5 will be disqualified.
• Do not steal each other's work or ideas. To ensure this, we will ask each team to present a Game Design Document during the first 2 weeks of the event.
• The teams are the sole owners of the games they develop.
• You acknowledge that screenshots or video captures of the game you upload could be used in the promotional material of the event.
