Message from the artist
My entry for the first OST Composing Jam [Sandbox].
This was truly an experience (I ran out of time and space).

I had to redo another track midtime because I thought I knew how to do a music than can be played in reverse… but I didn't...
I used Ableton to create the first half of the music, and then reverse it with Audacity to create the second half. This way you can hear the music notes being identicals in reverse.
I tried to compose a creepy melody, and it turned out progressively oriental. In the end, it reminds me of the court of Azathoth from Lovecraft’s work.
In the first half, you’re falling in this dark, cosmic place, and when the music is reversing, you’re forcibly expelled, with what is left of your sanity (because my music is horrible).
Maybe it would fit for a tiny segment of a shmup game where you try to dodge some unspeakable horrors while you fall in space.

Happy Halloween to all Lovecraft cultists !

Very nice! The repetition of the plucky melody works very well to drive in the ominous feeling!

Thank you !

I think a Halloween track like this fits the wholly reversed audio better than many others!

I also really like that you made it spooky but not boring. Full of energy and fun creepiness!

Good job!

Thank you ! It makes me wonder why I didn't think about doing something around the "haunted reversed video tape" trope.

I got drawn in by the piano arrangement in the beginning! Great work, my only critique would be that there is not too much different about the second half of the song.

Developer

Thanks for listening ! Indeed, I should have composed it to sound more different in reverse.

This is a really sonically unique piece, I just wish there was a little bit more to the second half other than the audio being reversed being the main point.
