Description
I have no clue what the genre is, but its heavily Undertale inspired. the game is an RPG, where you explore the city inside your mind! you face bad emotions, and eventually overcome your trauma, finally letting go of your past. Track 1 would be the opening, traveling into the mind world, while Track 2 is the file select! Track 3 it the title screen, and Track 4 is the theme of the Mind City! Track 5 is the battle theme, and track 6 is the game over, finally leading to the Track 7, the final boss, and track 8, the ending theme! I made all my tracks with FL Studio, and lot of soundfonts!

Message from the artist
Hopefully this is a fun album to listen to! I'm not the most experienced, but I put in a lot of effort! The Cover Art is by my Brother, The_Credits_End! I decided to go with a very SNES and Chiptune style, with orchestral parts for the intro and game over, due to the fact that they take place in the real world! (game over is both because your trapped in a limbo between them)

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
I took the theme as an excuse to go all the way in my style, and then tied it together with a story about a city inside your mind, where you fight off the bad emotions and overcome your trauma!

The style of the music is joyful and rhythmic, making me think of Kirby and Wario Land.

Some interesting ideas but as your submission's genra is not what I really like musically, I would appreciate it all! Found the first track pretty good though!

You are very good in reproducing the feel and sound of that particular gaming era. But where's your personal touch?

Submitted

Very solid! Bustling Brain reminded me a lot of sonic cd, specifically quartz quadrant zone nice use of the genesis sound font, and the boss sounding one was FiRe!? I loved the listen 🌵

Submitted

Nicely produced! The mastered volume stays mostly consistent, and the mix of instruments holds the listeners' interest. Good work!

Solid submission! Liked Funky Files the most, it's so groovy. Keep it up!

I think the intro is a bit jarring with the strings punching the left ear pretty hard. Centralizing the panning a bit and widening them out would help balance that for sure, as the left ear is getting too much information whereas the right gets essentially none.

Welcome to Your Inner City is really groovy and a jam! I enjoy the soundfont choices and melody a lot. It also sounds like the bass is panned to the left throughout a good chunk of the song, and I would advise to keep that pretty centralized to keep the mix balanced.

Bustling Brain is another jam! Feels very fresh and ear wormy. I think you did pretty well with the production on this one.

In Angry Denizens of the Big Watermelon, I think the hard left panning on a few instruments obscures them too much and has them fighting for attention. The composition itself is great though and also a banger.

Battle Against a Traumatic Opponent is such an Earthbound title and I love that. The piece is super high energy and realllly catchy, but the mix does feel kinda off kilter at times when things get really hectic.

I think Let Go is really goofy and fun, but the bass is a bit muddy when it goes super low.

I loved your entry a lot and I thought it was super fun and creative, and definitely was able to pick up on all the Undertale influence. My biggest gripe is some of the mixing choices, but your compositions were pretty on point!

"Battle Against A Traumatic Opponent is great and all, but have you heard Welcome to Your Inner City?"
Admittedly I prefer BAaTO, but I gotta give merit to WtYIC, since that track got me to move my fingers with the beat haha. The Undertale influence can really be felt here, but it's still its own thing and that's well played. Great composition and consistency on this work too. Good job!

Aha! I have reached you after 143 or so entries!

I heard most of these in the devlog chat. I don't put much stuff there because I like to surprise people with my music but I also don't get much feedback if there are any issues so good on you for putting yourself out there for improvement!

I can definitely hear the soundfonts which isn't a bad thing! I used soundfonts almost exclusively because they are really easy to work with and I still use them occasionally because they have some great sounds you can't find elsewhere.

I really enjoyed Welcome to your inner city! I think it had the best percussion line of all the tracks..

That being said I think the percussion being different in a lot of the tracks was a little strange and it caused them to disconnect a bit for me.

Also, the mixing of the kick in Battle against a Traumatic Opponent hurt my head a little but IDK if that's just me.

I didn't notice a leitmotif so if there was one I apologize but I think one would connect the songs fabulously and it would even tie the theme in really well if this is someone's mind by having something always present in each song as like a lingering thought y'know?

Overall, I really liked this entry because it was fun and upbeat with a lot of catchy songs and unique compared to many entries. Fast and fun game music is also definitely more my style so that helps too.

Great Job!

I'll never forget the megalovania remix of Welcome to the Inner City, should've added that as a bonus track.

I like the different styles you use for your track without straying off the retro aesthetic, I also have a soft spot for genesis instruments so listening this is a treat for me.

This is a very eclectic soundtrack, I think there's like 10 genres in this,  if the game really existed I'm sure it would be a fun and a weird one.

The immediate switch to second track startled me, they sound completely different. "Funky Flies" is a nice small beat.

I like the chord progression on "Welcome To Your Inner City" and I'm %100 sure that this is a reference to Toby Fox's City theme on Deltarune Chapter 2 (forgot the song name), the progression sounds even alike (the watery jingles sounded a bit out of place though).

The mixing could be better by changing the volume on some instruments (especially the 5th and 7th track, they sound very loud), the orchestral instruments mixed with chiptune felt sometimes a bit out of place, otherwise nice work!

Nice one! I like the energy of Battle Against A Traumatic Opponent and it gave off Undertale Vibes for sure! Thanks for sharing this with us!

Very fun listen! I enjoyed the switches from orchestral, to funky beats, and finishing it off with a bouncy electronic track.  Fun stuff!

awesome sauce!!!!! :3333 B) :D

fav tracks: Funky Files, Bustling Brain, Battle Against a Traumatic Opponent <-- this one is really good

Everything as been said, so I won't comment all the tracks, but as a fellow melodist : you have something gowing with Battle against a traumatic opponent ! I think you can remix it to make the melody pop out even more, especially in phases with a lot going on. GG !

I'm sorry I recognized Megalovania from Homestuck and not Undertale.

Amazing work here, one of my top 5 in the whole Jam for sure.

Like everyone else, my favorite would be Battle Against A Traumatic Opponent. The melody reminds me of sans’ theme from Undertale so you definitely nailed that one lol. Great job

I like this a lot, you've definitely got the chiptune style down very well, there are some really nice catchy melodies and parts.

For the most part everything sits very nicely together and sounds well balanced, a couple moments here and there where an element maybe felt a little bit too loud but only a touch and mostly everything was just right.

I would say Funky Files could have used a very short lead in at the start, did get a little bit of a jump scare from it haha.

There's a good variety of different sounds and styles here too whilst still feeling very coherent and I like the moments where you've chosen to use a little hint of more modern production styles and techniques to elevate the track but without having it lose that retro feel.

I think my favourites were:

Bustling Brain, that had a real nice underlying groove with the drums, bass and piano and I really liked the piano solo.

Also really liked Overpowering Emotions, short but really full of emotion executed in a kinda jazzy way I really liked.

At first I was thinking Battle Against A Traumatic opponent was maybe too upbeat, even within the context of the soundtrack, but as it went on I think you really got across that feeling very effectively.
