Really gorgeous writing and instrumentation! I think your ideas are really strong, but my one feedback is i would love to have the non piano melody instruments be a bit louder, because they can fade to the back sometimes. But your writing is super pretty and you should be proud!
The volume issue might be cause I artificially boosted the piano audio as it was quiet on my end. I wasn't aware that it stook out still, as I already adjusted it for one of the pieces I made. Thank you for letting me know!
no problem! excellent work regardless
Very epic!
The way this is mastered makes me feel like I'm playing a video game from the 90's
As always, I'm a sucker for piano and string works.
Favorite Track: "Deep River, Take Me Home"
This is very well written! Sampled instruments all sound good, and are used very well. The composition here is really great, tracks feel dynamic and the instruments compliment each other very well! Rain Falls, Lingering Sorrow was a really cool switch up in tone. Great work!
Beautiful work. It's a shame the mixing came out a bit muddy, but the quality of the orchestration and arrangement is superb. Awesome job!
Really immersive and beautiful OST, great job! My favorites were 'Blue Reef, Let the Fish Play', with its fun and playful rhythms and motifs, and 'Deep River, Take Me Home', which was just a gorgeous track.
Great motiv and orchestration! enjoyed listenting the whole OST :)
Some howard shore vibe ;) Enjoyed the blue reef motives, really chill and working fine
Rain falls, lingering sorrow was terrific at the start! And the sadness come
Last track was soul crushing with that beautiful harmonies :)
I think your mix was a bit off and feel like a lot of instruments were drowned in the reverb so it get muddy really fast.
The reverb is just the default with my software, I didn't add any extra reverb to it. I do understand not everyone likes it, and I do want to experiment with lower reverb settings for other songs. I also don't have a ton of mixing experience either so I understand if it doesn't sound right either, I'm still learning new ways to improve the audio qualities. Thank you for the feedback tho, much appreciated!
Great work! Beautiful story full of emotions, great orchestration and melody writing. Really like it!
Super high quality and well made! My favorite was Blue Reef, Let the Fish Play because of the mallets.
Lovely orchestral, really well done. I especially like "deep river bring me home", nailed the feeling of coming back to the land that saw you grow.
Excellent work with this OST. I can tell you put a lot of thought and effort into both each individual track and the work as a whole. "Rain Falls, Lingering Sorrow" is such an emotional track, especially after the whimsical "Blue Reef, Let the Fish Play." The ending is strong and almost triumphant which, after the emotional journey, is a great way to punctuate the whole story. Again, excellent work!
Great epic music, love it so much the last one "Deep River, Take Me Home" so emotional music you have here x3 ♥
Very epic sound, super impressive knowing the limitations of midi instruments to get such a cinematic sheen on this!
This took me on an adventure! Every song tells a clear story that leads to a satisfying conclusion with the last song (which was my personal favorite). Thank you for sharing this!
Ahhh, what a nice harmony. I really like the balance of each instrument. Could you tell me the important points to achieve balance? I would be very happy to receive advice.
As far as I've come to understand it, it's just a matter of understanding your textures and how to double your voicings. For example, quieter and softer passages may require you to use minimal blending of voices, especially between the low and high instruments. Or, for bigger and grander ones, it's important to double your voicings between both high and low instruments alike.
It all comes down to experimentation, but if you ever wanted to learn more about it, you could look into how famous orchestral composers went about making their music and balanced between different sections of the orchestra. Some of their pieces would set up an important precedence for the future of music. I don't know any off the top of my head that I can suggest, but I would especially recommend any 20th century orchestral composers.
YESSSSSS incredibly smooth and consistent work!
Nice work! Short, cohesive, it all feels like it belongs together in the same game. Solid work all around my friend!
I like how the orchestrations feel cohesive together. I didn't notice a leitmotif, but I think the atmosphere makes the songs feel like distinct chapters but related, which I think works. I especially like 'Deep River Take Me Home' and 'Rain Falls Lingering Sorrow', the feeling comes across, and it feels very easy to put myself in those spots.
This is a really solid collection of tracks that keep a consistent theme while also talking different emotions within the music. There's a lot of interesting composition choices that I think panned out really well, especially within the string section. Great stuff overall!
i like how this feels! overall, i think you got the vibes across really well! im not good at orchestral stuff, but it feels very nice and full!
great OST! nicely varied and emotional. i especially love the string dissonances, which are all really nicely handled - strong wind writing too. nice use of percussion and themes too, i really enjoyed each track but my favorite is Deep River. awesome stuff!
