Description
For this soundtrack I decided to focus on the feelings and sensations felt by someone fleeing a dangerous and/or sad situation and how one manages to face his fear and turn around to face the danger. In fact, this would take form in a quite classic Game about a hero who fled the destruction of his kingdom after his own family was killed in the war.
For this song I used FL Studio and the Komplete Ultimate Library with some instruments coming from the East West library. I mainly used classic instruments.
The game would be a quite classic J-RPG in 2d.
The First track was made to be the main menu theme of the game with melody reminiscent of adventure and courage.
The Second Track is a miore cinematic one when the hero is fleeing in the forest, chased by soldiers. As the only survivor of the carnage, he is panicked and lost.
And finally the third track is about an end crédit theme, at the end of the story.
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
This soundtrack fit the theme because of the story about the hero who runaway after the death of his family and the destruction of his land. The game, and by extension, the soundtrack, is about why he fled and how he will decide later to stop running to face those who have murdered his family.

Love this OST, love the soft tunes especially on the woodwind in the second track.
Very good! The timbre of the instruments they were very well chosen. Congratulations!🤗
Very sweet tunes, I enjoyed, Tips for strings, you have to give them some space in terms of voicing the harmony, especially in the cello, don't try and do close up chords but space them a little bit more, like doublebass and cello can play the same note with an octave different and play the fifth or third on the violas. Good job !
Thank you for your tips. I will try it in my next composition. I really like your submission too !
Main Theme: The simplicity of the main melody is very beautiful! When it returns in the strings toward the end, I like the variation you used in the rhythm with pick-up notes that break it up into phrases which help it make perfect sense to my ears.
Hopeless Escape: I think that the “hopelessness” of this track comes mostly from the somber melody that is long and beautiful, especially in the cello. I noticed in your screen share that you doubled the solo cello, yet it sounded like a single cello (albeit a beautiful one). I wonder what the reasoning for that was and is there some secret you know that can help me make my cello lines sound like yours?
Looking Backward: You’ve found a stellar and unique combination of instruments in the piano, celesta, cello, and flute. I love the change in texture when the celesta was added in. I think there is great potential for this song to build into an epic conclusive piece if you ever wanted to extend it.
Overall: I appreciate your process to composing where you focus on a harmony expressed in a moving voice that has momentum and then using a simple but effective melody overtop. These were very relaxing pieces to listen to. Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing!
Thank you for your feedback. I was really impressed by your composition, I especially loved the piano parts of your songs !
The main theme contrasts a little too strongly with the flutes and violin but the other themes are quite fine as they are. Good work.
Thank you for listening and feedback !
Wonderfully emotional. This is oddly enough giving me Pride And Prejudice (2005) movie sound track vibes, and that is a very good thing.
I love that heroic feel in your tracks. Cool work with melodies and sounds but I think your tracks need a little bit more mixing^^
Thank you for listening !
Even when I have time to compose, mixing is still one of my weakness. I have still much to learn.
I love this concept, so full of emotion-- it's great!
Track 1: a beautiful opening, I love the timbre of this group and the melody that comes back stronger every time. It went from sweet and reflective to beautiful and powerful. Maybe try to break up the repetitive chords every once in a while, to add motion and interest?
Track 2: This was another gentle and beautiful track, which is great, but it seems to go against the story here: it's less perilous and intense than I expected. It was very emotional though: the strings, flute and piano all worked in perfect harmony. I'd again recommend changing the repeating chords to add more interest.
Track 3: A pretty conclusion to a pretty soundtrack :) I loved it when the celesta came in.
All three tracks have a similar feel-- next time, I would love to hear a wider range of emotions expressed in the music. But the notes of sadness, bravery, and reflection were all heard loud and clear, and you did a great job of conveying that story :)
Thank you for listening and feedback !
I'm quite new to composition, and it's always good to have feedback !
I think you captured the emotional feeling well, love the main theme in particular!
Thank you !
It was a really hard time composing for this one, I only finished it in the last hour before the end.
I really enjoyed your submission, it was quite different from the music I've listened to so far while still being in the theme !
Thank you!
