Description
In a friendly little world similar to games like "A Short Hike” and "Wanderhome," this game-that-isn't starts when you, a friendly little creature, decide to skip little creature school and spend your school day making for the mountains instead! Starting in your river valley home, you traverse misty forests, sun-baked grasslands, and make a final climb to the peak -- all the while making new friends, helping out the folks around you when you can, and rediscovering all the ways your home actually *is* one of your most favorite places to be. (Written using Cedric Stoquer's fantastic Petaporon sequencer!)
The four songs here are a proof-of-concept for an eventual full soundtrack:
1. here goes nothing (main theme) is the first thing you hear when you set off down the road!
2. foxglove meadow is for one of the many new-to-you environments you encounter: a lush forest meadow filled with butterflies and towering foxgloves in full bloom.
3. mist river ferry crossing is for another environment, a ferry ride that's a spooky good time.
4. homecoming comes right at the end of the game, as you return home to rejoin your family under the first stars of night.
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
Your player character is a little creature who runs away to have an epic (little) adventure!

Ok yeah, this is cute
Thanks for listening! :)
What a wholesome take on the theme! It does sound cute according to other comments!
Thanks so much!
I was reading some of the other comments here, and they all said "cute" and I was like "what?"...
So then I listened to it, and yes. Cute is very much the word to describe how this music feels. :D
Here goes nothing - Great theme. Lots of happy vibes. It reminds me of some N64 games I've played in the past.
foxglove meadow - Again, such a happy theme. This one makes me think of a small town in the meadow. Villagers just going about their business, maybe with a few words to say. Very nice mood.
mist river ferry crossing - This one sounds a little bit more serious. It sounds like now we might slowly be heading into some sort of adventure where some danger might greet us. Luckily, we brought friends (that's what the theme makes me think anyway, because it still feels like we're pretty safe)! Again, very nice work!
homecoming - Aw. The opening makes me think we're greeted by half the town. And then when it opens, I'm just imagining a small town party to celebrate that our adventurers have returned safely.
Yeah, great tunes. Quite uplifting. Great job! Really enjoyed it.
Hahaha surprise cute!! :) I love your scenarios — that vibe of “luckily, we brought friends” was 100% what I hoped would come through. Thanks for listening! :)
Very different take on the theme from lots of others’ tracks. Refreshing! Also cute!
That's great to hear -- thanks for listening!
Very cute and nostalgic ost! Really like the inclusion the Ferry Crossing track as it adds a slightly darker edge in comparison with the rest of the ost.
Thanks! It was really fun figuring out how to work in some contrast with a limited sound palette & while making sure all the tracks still felt like a cohesive (and cute haha) whole :)
Simply, fun and, more important than everything, cute! 😻
Thanks so much!
I love the vibe !
On the mixing side your bass parts sound way too loud to me and it prevents your nice melodies from standing out the way they deserve ^^ on your main theme mostly
thanks Hasenn! I hear you on the mixing — the tool I used is just too simple for that granular of audio tweaking. But I appreciate the feedback! :)
Great music!!! I really enjoyed listening to this one.
Thanks, that’s great to hear!
I really like the aesthetic you are creating! Very nostalgic for me, reminds me of the DS pokemon games.
Thanks so much! :)
