This is a pretty interesting idea! I like the pixelart and variety of pumpkins!

This is absolutely my favourite game of the jam so far. Who knew it'd be so much fun? Who knew there were so many letters in PUMPKIN?! Top job!

Developer

Oh wow, thank you!

I loved the retro feel to it, with the music and SFX implications being especially great, only thing I would add is sometimes you can go 4-5 or more without a letter of pumpkin but a great and fun experience!

Developer

Yeah, that's the problem of RNG, maybe I should have put a limit of 1 or 2 non-pumpkin letters per pumpkin. Oh well!

I thought this was really fun! Only beef I had was once the ghost pops up if there is an 'I' or 'T' on the left side you cannot tell which is which and I definitely lost some lives that way. Perhaps having the ghost be slightly transparent or move a bit more so you can better infer the letter would be nice. I feel the game is challenging enough without the ghost, but I can also see its usefulness. Great work I had a lot of fun!

Developer

You can click the ghost to scare it away. Kudos though if just played with it there!

opps >.< that is  what I get for just skimming the instructions. Really though it was a fun game!

Nice, polished retro implementation of an interesting idea. I really enjoyed this one!

Thanks!

The sound was banging (good) the rest was really solid too, although like others some of the rules eluded me.

Thanks! The sound is from Newgrounds, a great resource if you don't know it.

It took a little bit to understand when to press space, but it was cool once I got it. Really unique idea!

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it!

Really liked the way the first few pumpkins became increasingly complex to help the player get used to the rules. Your entry is super polished and a great concept for a once minute game!

Thank you!

After getting a hold of the concept it was engaging. Straight forward gameplay that encourages replays, great entry!

Developer

Thanks! I wish itch had scoreboards, I wanna know what you all scored!

Hands down the most genuine and briliant game of the jam <3

Oh wow, thanks a lot! :)

Pretty good idea for the jam! Definitely a good take on the theme. Graphics look nice and the gameplay is pretty straightforward. I also like the background music, very cute halloweeny. It took me a moment to get what the instructions meant but once I played a round I understood. Nice work. :)

I didn't run into any bugs in my short playthrough.

Also, LOL at the ghost sound when you click on them.

Developer

Thanks! And yeah, the instructions aren't the clearest, I guess. Writing copy has never been my strong suit!
