This is the 1D Jam.

Each game in this jam must be one-dimensional. Details are provided below.

The submission period for this jam is one month. The following 15 days are the rating period.

If this is your first time uploading a game to itch.io, it is a good idea to upload a preliminary version of your game early in the submission period, and verify that it can be played. Visibility & access for the game can be set to Draft or Restricted until the submission period, if you don't want others to see it.

During the submission period, you can upload your game multiple times.

During the rating period, you cannot upload your submitted game. Please ensure that you have done adequate testing during the submission period.

Jam rules:

1. All submissions must be playable-in-browser. No downloadable games will be accepted.

2. A game may have one or more screens that show credits, attributions, instructions, etc. But the playing area of the game must meet the following requirements.

3. The playing area must have a solid background color that never changes.

4. The playing area may have a menu button for accessing other screens. The button must consist of the icon provided here, except that the color can be modified and it can be resized. A key press may also be used to access a menu.

5. The playing area must contain a single, one-dimensional curve. The curve can be a line segment, a polygon, a circle, a figure-eight, etc. The curve must have a width of one pixel. There are no restrictions on the colors used in the curve, and the colors may change while the game is running.

6. There must be no other graphics in the playing area.

7. There are no restrictions on audio (music and sound effects).

Any submission that doesn't observe the above rules will be removed.
