Congrats on joining your first game jam! Chuckled when I heard the spongebob music lol. The movement and shooting mechanics are fine. However, I had trouble figuring out what to do since the mechanics aren't communicated very well to the player. I like the simplicity of the game. Could do with a bit more polish, but I really admire when game jam entries are ambitious (I can relate because that's what I did on my first game jam). I hope you continue to join more jams!

Well done for your first game jam! Graphics are simple but nice vfx. About music, I remember this music but not the name... Enemies are simple but easy to design!

Nice first game jam game. I liked the shooting and the dashing mechanic and they worked surprisingly well. A tip I would give is, give a bit more information of what to do(where to find the flag).

but overall, its a nice first game jam game and you should definitely keep going.

Thank you for taking the time to play my game jam entry and for sharing your feedback! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the shooting and dashing mechanics in the game, and that they worked well for you.

I appreciate your suggestion to give more information about what to do and where to find the flag. This is great feedback, and I'll keep it in mind for future projects to ensure that players have a clear understanding of what their objectives are.

Thank you again for your encouragement and for supporting me as a game developer. I'm excited to keep creating and participating in game jams, and I hope to improve with each new project!

Hey! Hope you're enjoying your first jam experience!

For a first jam I think you did a good job, although I would recommend spending more time on polish and a little less time on adding features. That's just my opinion though, congratulations on your first game jam game!

Developer

Thank you for your message and for taking the time to give me feedback on my first game jam entry. I'm glad to hear that you think I did a good job overall!

I appreciate your suggestion to spend more time on polishing my game and less time on adding features. I can see how focusing on the core mechanics and making sure they work well can lead to a more enjoyable experience for players. I'll definitely keep this in mind for future projects.

Always cool to welcome a first-time jammer (so far I counted 3 of you).

Not many first timers have upgrade systems in their game. That's pretty ambitious, but maybe not the best way to go. Try to polish the basics before diving in into complex stuff. Also- go harder on the theme. The levels felt more like a meadow than a street.

Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your feedback on my game jam entry. I'm glad to hear that the people welcomed first-time jammers like myself.

I appreciate your comments on my attempt to include an upgrade system in my game. I agree that it was ambitious, and I can see how polishing the basic mechanics first would have made for a more enjoyable experience for players. I'll keep this in mind for future projects and strive to make the gameplay mechanics as solid as possible.

Your feedback on the theme is also valuable. I can see how the levels in my game might have felt more like a meadow than a street, and I'll work to incorporate the theme more effectively in future projects.

Overall, I'm grateful for your feedback and will use it to continue improving as a game developer. I'm excited to participate in future game jams and see how my skills and creativity can grow. Thank you for your encouragement to keep up the good work!
