  • Good application of the theme, with a good coherent vibe shown through the art. My main struggle was to understand how to do the things and why I was doing them, if that makes sense. Always start with the assumption that your players have no idea how to play the game, even if the gameplay is simple. Tell them where to click (or even if they have to click), what to do with each object, etc. The house is pretty clear and placed in the center of the map for extra clarity, but I would even put an arrow at the start that points to it and says "start here" or something. Put the instructions that are in your game page into the game for those who don't read descriptions before launching the game. If it's a mouse game, say to use the mouse buttons etc,. It felt a little aimless to buy rails and place them only to skip to the next day without consequence. Give the player incentive to go to the next day but also to use up their resources. I wondered why not just skip days until I have a billion dollars and never have to worry about it again? You could add that seasons pass and make it harder to build when things freeze over (or just that it's either winter or not to simplify things). Maybe more cities pop up the more you wait, or you have to keep replacing rail sections after a while so they don't rust — make it cost something to move forward in time that isn't just losing what was bought, because then might as well just buy it all again since gaining money has no other downside. I hope you have time to add the frogs in there eventually! They would add some life to the map and I just want to see them move around hehe I would have expected a little more water all around for a game about frogs, but it's not really a downside not to have any just an observation for additional colors if you wanted to add them to your palette outside of the jam. I really liked the concept, and even without the frogs being present it was a fun thing to put rails around and connect places.
