Welcome to the Devlog for the game REMEMBER! To put it simply, REMEMBER is a game that I have been writing for almost three whole years.  And as someone with little experience in much else other than writing, but knowing well that just being able to write the story isn't enough, I decided to take on this game jam as a personal challenge. With two weeks to make a final (ish) product, I want to challenge my ability to stay focused and create something I'll be proud of!

I can't promise it'll be the best thing, but I can promise it will be the  best I can offer, and a true testament to what I want this game to become!

That said, I have very little experience overall. I have never made assets, I have never touched Blender or Krita in all my life. I have been gently working with Godot for the last three years and have some knowledge of how it works. I also have some knowledge in GameMaker, which might become the engine I use, depending on what happens. The hope is to keep exclusively to Godot, but sometimes, of course, things happen.

Moving on to the game itself!

The hope is to eventually turn the game into something 3D, but I'm not that talented. I plan to go with a 2D side-scrolling style gameplay for the main sections of the game. I always loved playing Scott Pilgrim VS The World and that style of fighting is something I really hope to achieve. I will be attempting to create my own assets as well.

I'm being pretty ambitious here, as a total newcomer to the scene, but I see this as a huge learning opportunity! I'm mostly hoping to develop game building techniques and use these two weeks to get used to my programs and really apply myself with a deadline in mind.

As for Day 1, July 5th for me, I will be focusing on learning the ropes of my programs, to brush up on knowledge with the game engine, and the asset creators. It's a basic Day 1, and I plan to make updates as I go, to show the progress of it!

This is awesome! It's pretty common for jammers to take ideas they've had for a while but haven't really had the push to go for so I hope the jam is a great opportunity for you to really work with a deadline--I'm wishing you the best of luck!!
