Good start! I included it in my Music Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)

Developer

Thanks for giving it a try :)

Very cool little project! Audio is fantastic. I like the alternate weapons as well. I gave that boss the horn. He was asking for it. AI leaves a good bit to be desired but other than that I really like everything about it.

Developer

Thank you! I appreciate the comment and you had me smiling with the horn comment. I admit AI is my weakness so I'll be putting more efforts into making them more fun to deal with.

Liked the idea of the parts slowly adding up as you collect the instruments. Was put off at first by the endless repetition but as more parts are added to the texture the music really comes together. Visuals were a bit disappointing in my honest opinion.

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback.  We will be putting efforts in making the visual more fun to look at.

I'd say it's more than 'influenced' by LoZ, most of the sprites look like the came straight out of Link's Awakening. AI doesn't really do anything but mill around aimlessly. After the fist couple rooms it turns into - here's the rest of your items, go fight the boss. Maybe just not enough time? Also, looking at the screenshots, it looks like the hearts didn't render the correct size for me, because they were huge and overlapping each other. If you continue the project, I'd say try to find a way to make the game "your own".

Developer

Thank you for playing and the feedback. We decided to keep the project at the "concept" and mainly focus on showing the original music/sounds and how we would use it in a game. Because our artist became unavailable we ended up using graphics from a previous game and from sites like spriters-resource.com hence the graphics being straight from Link's Awakening.  :D

We do aim do replace all stock images with our own once our designer/artist is available and make the dungeon be filled with original designs and mechanics to make the game unique. Hope you are willing to try again once the project gets to that point.

I enjoyed how items changed the music-scape!

Developer

Great! Thank you for playing. That was the main "gimmick" and we were wondering if it was not going to be immediately obvious. Glad you liked it. :)

Nice work!  I'm swinging the sword and am like, "is that music...with my sword" :D  then the treasure with the drums, harp, etc accumulating musical accompaniment -very awesome!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We where wondering if people would get confused at the sound the sword makes since it can sound like it is part of the bg music. Thanks for playing. :)

Neat usage of music! Though on some screen ratios you can't see the walls on the left and right side of the game.

Developer

thanks and sorry about that. I noticed after publishing the game. Will need to research how to accommodate for multiple res

Very enjoyable! Found myself wanting more to the level, though I understand the lack of time. Definitely curious to see what sort of additions you may make in the future.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing. We do aim to add more content and make the exploration more full.  :)

Nice job! Liked the musical elements a lot, and the timing was great. After getting the first key and moving past the door I got attacked by the enemy before I could even see them. Caused me to die, not sure if this was intentional, but maybe might want to include some sort of frame pan when moving to different rooms.

Developer

Totally not intentional. What I need to do is make sure the enemies don't move until after the room is loaded. Right now they are always moving. Sorry about that and thanks for playing :D

A cute Zelda-style thing! The music-themed items are a nice idea. Some rhythmic element to the gameplay would be sweet, like enemies dropping health or items only if slashed to the beat (assuming there was a prominent percussive track) or something like that :)

Developer(+1)

I like that. I'll share that with the team and see if that something with can proceed with.
Thanks for checking it out.
