Unfortunately I could not even escape the initial cell. I stumbled over the scanner, figured ACTA made the symbols match the TGAT combo as well as possible... then nothing. I don't know what to do.

Like the other commenters have mentioned, this was a hard game to figure out what to do. I didn't realize I needed to move onto the little "window" thing (the scanner I guess) so I was just messing around in my own DNA window

This is a great idea for a game, and with some more polish it could be an excellent thing to take further and update. It took me a minute to work out that you have to slot the DNA together - the UI elements could be clearer. Speaking of UI, some cleaner, custom UI elements would have been really nice in this game as the lack of feedback on hovering and clicking made it frustrating to play at times. I think this is a great game idea, but it just needs a bit more polish to take it to the next level. Well done with this!

It was tough at first to figure out exactly how to change the DNA since there was no feedback when selecting a letter, but once I somehow got the right combination to exit the room and got the clone's DNA it became clear. The idea to have powerups as DNA strings was pretty cool, too bad the game was too short for it to be used more than once.

Like the other commenters have mentioned, this was a hard game to figure out what to do. I didn't realize I needed to move onto the little "window" thing (the scanner I guess) so I was just messing around in my own DNA window. I tried to walk through the door with every possible permutation and almost gave up until I just started walking around randomly and hitting random buttons, lol.

That aside, the concept is SUPER cool. It can be a little tedious to go back and forth from the scanner menu to the DNA menu - but if you converted the "scanner" part into just needing the proper DNA sequences (to unlock, for example, the ability to walk through walls or ice resistance etc etc) so that it feels like you're actually stealing DNA and adapting yourself to solve puzzles, I think you'd have an incredible game on your hands.

But as-is, once I figured out how to play your game, I still had a lot of fun with it. Great work!

Thanks for taking time out of your day to help me better my game dev skills, the main fault of this game is the lack of tutorials/help (and some major polishing) but I am very thankful of your opinion and suggestions for the game, I shall take them to heart if/when I polish this further!

I was so confused when I started playing but after i started getting what was happening I realized how cool of an idea this is.Could have been more polished but I understand as you had less time. But I think a tutorial inside the game is always good.  :)

Thank you very much for taking your time and playing! I do wish I had put in more of a tutorial and more help but I totally overlooked it during developement. Also thanks for the kind words!

This is a pretty cool concept! Please update your game page with more information on how to play, it was very confusing at first. I managed to complete Level 1, 2 and 4. I made it to the end at Level 3, but the last door was bugged and had no code to scan.

I think it is a brilliant idea to basically morph your own DNA so that your character gains different abilities. There are some mechanics that must be explained or shown better, for example, you get to move 2 tiles before the enemy moves - this confused me on the timing of the enemy’s movement when trying to avoid being seen. The speed ability also should be explained clearer: i.e. allows you to move 3 tiles before an enemy moves. There is a lack of indication of anything, so perhaps you should at least have an arrow saying “click here” to select your gene for scanning the first door. Explain to the player that the shapes must fit in the scan. When you tell the player to “touch clones”, it is not immediately apparent that the patrolling guards are the clones, so you should either give a backstory or just point out that you need to move into them to get the extra DNA letters needed to unlock the final door.

Although the game lacks polish, I think the base concept is quite unique and engaging to play. I would love to see this idea be developed further!

I am very grateful you took your time to play my game and write your honest opinion about it, currently I'm writing up a description and help for the game to hopefully aid new players so they don't have to waste time with trial and error to figure out the main mechanis.

Thank you very much for playing!

Okay, I understand what you have to do in this game, put it was almost impossible for me to figure it out. I persisted though.

There could have been some work on getting the input for changing the order of DNA more intuitive and responsive. I think I had to double click, which basically means most people won't even realize they can click on it at all. Also, the highlighting of the letters themselves is way too subtle it's hard to tell you can even interact with them either. Once I figured out what to do with the letters, I found the concept somewhat interesting actually. I think you could have focused more on just that puzzle aspect of using DNA sequences to unlock doors and polished that up.

I have no idea how to "Touch clones to get DNA" though...

Thank you very much that you took the time to actually try my game! I have to say I completely forgot about explaining most things and didn't think about how confusing this all must be for someone that has no idea what is going on. Still I am very grateful for your criticism and will update the games description to hopefully aid others.

Thanks!
