Really interesting mechanic!  Growing the cube is really satisfying, and the different sized faces could lead to some good puzzle solving, trying to figure out how to turn the cube to go over the right tile.  I feel like it's a good foundation for a bigger game, especially if you can eventually make the scale really large, like Katamari Damacy.  Nice job!

Cool tech demo

Nice prototype! Rolling a cube around is always fun. Especially when it's now 7x6x4! I didn't really understand which animals to pick up, but it was fun nonetheless. Has good potential to become a puzzler.

Super satisfying, if you don't go down the puzzle route with this, you could try something like Hole.io cause that game is super satisfying when you get big just like this one!

Developer

OOH! YEAH! i think adding support for larger tiles could rly help with the growth aspect!!

Cool prototype. It's pretty satisfying to roll around and get bigger. Excited to see this evolve into a fully fledged game! great job!

It was an awesome idea, though the rules for picking up sprites needs to be better conveyed to the player. Overall a great submission.

Developer

that's a smart idea! i think establishing a background sprite color/brightness tint would be helpful for establishing sprites that can or can't be picked up

That would do it perfectly. Thanks for making this game.

Cool idea, I liked growing my cube but I admit once I found the giant field of unsuspecting critters I just rolled around in there like crazy. Would like to see this with some premade levels that require you to think about how you need to turn your cube in order to grow/win.

Developer

yeah, i agree the cube puzzle route would have probably been the best way to go in order to give the mechanic the most legs as it stands. but, i think even when i was designing the concept i spread myself thin by trying to leave it open, and then not giving myself enough time to try making puzzles for the mechanic.

thanks for your comment, btw. gonna check our your project right now.

Yeah it's a great mechanic, and it stands really well as a demo or prototype. Jams are brutal with the short time limits! Good luck!
