It’s a decent blackjack and wave shooter game with a cool setting of brawling at the casino. Though you used the wrong words for the blackjack game. ‘Twist’ should be called ‘hit’ and ‘split’ should be called ‘stand’. ‘Split’ actually has a meaning in blackjack, it will confuse many players if it’s not doing what it’s supposed to do. While having 2 games in 1 is a cool concept which feels retro and nostalgic, it needs something more to the games to make it stand out and be unique. Perhaps have more story elements to the card game, or have more interesting mechanics to the brawler rather than just fighting wave after wave of enemies. Overall, I had some fun, good effort.
The card game did confuse me, and the fighting part was alright. The flipping table mechanic didn't seem to work/didn't have a purpose. Overall not bad, the game looked nice and the sounds were pretty good.
I cant say a lot about the card game because I didn't got how it worked , a tutorial would have been great .
the "fuck it " mode was a pretty solid survival - wave - thing .
It glitched out and I did no longer take damage . I played to like wave 30 until I got bored .
I think there is potential in the idea of playing a card game and having a option to start a fight , maybe you could interconnect the two gameplay styles a bit more , for instance with a way to get back your lost money or loose the rest of it , so it would be some kind of risk versus reward choice .
I think something like that could work in a larger RPG where you actually have a use for the money .
for the first game jam this is really not bad , well done
I'm not familiar with the card game (I think it's Pontoon?), so I went straight for the brawl mode. It's a fairly basic wave-style brawl arena, with some kind of table flipping (couldn't quite figure that one out). I liked the idea of going "screw this, I'm gonna fight" in a card game, and I also liked the little pool table sprites in the arena stage. Overall, not bad, but could be more engaging.
Confuse.
