Nice idea. It took me a little bit to get used with the controls. But after that it was fun to play. Good game! :)

Thank you so much for playing!

Reminds me alot of the miniclip dig game (best game)

Like the gameplay and simple story you had^^

As feedback, you probably can enhance the controls to get a better "feel" of the game and enhance the experience.

Good stuff^^

Developer

Thank you! Controls are difficult, I learned that this jam :D I think you mean Motherload, some of the previous feedback pointed to that game. There's a more recent version of that (Super Motherload) available I've heard :D

Really fun actually if not a bit grindy.. but grindy in a oddly calming way. Like mining in minecraft, all thats missing is some really calm music and maybe the occasional thought dialogue from the robot. The objective is freedom but it would be really nice if the robot spewed out really deep thought bubbles here and there.

Managed to get all 4 endings. The 4th one is pretty sneaky but I was using the gem trick the entire time and after discovering the 1st ending it immediately pointed me in the right direction for the fourth. Really natural progression there actually.

Good Job :D

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and the detailed feedback!

I wanted to add so much more but jam games usually spiral out of control if you don't limit the scope :D I tried going for "short but sweet" so that with hundreds of jam games one could play through it in a couple of minutes. Thanks again!

Flew into space using magnetism 5/5

Really nice aesthetic and dialogue system, the game felt very polished.

Developer

Thank you very much for playing!

I had a lot of fun playing this game! Some of the physics were a bit weird but it also made for some very funny interactions. You could get above a gem or skull and use the magnetism to basically fly upward as the artifact pushed you up from below haha. This game felt very polished (other than no music... but it's a game jam so can't blame you), and I loved the use of lighting. It really made the look of your game feel unique even though everyone used the same tileset. Not sure if I got all the endings or not but I had a fun time playing through. Great work on this submission it was loads of fun!

Developer

Yeah well .. turns out physics are harder than I thought :D The "flying" was a "happy little accident" and then I enjoyed flying around the map using a bone so much that I kept it in. Next time I try my hand at physics, I'm going to tweak it a little bit though xD

Thank you so much for playing!

I like the look and lighting of the game. The sound effects are also very satisfying!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

Very fun, very engaging. The lightning effects are beautiful. Almost everything felt very smooth but sometimes I had issues getting the stuff I gathered back to the top because of the physics :D Tweaking that a bit should do the job. I also forgot the controls the first time. It would have been nice to have a way to show them again (for example in the pause menu).

Other than those 2 things, you did an amazing job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah .. physics is hard :D Thank you so much for playing!

In the future I will definitely include a control-scheme in the game somehow.. I noticed a lot of people are having problems with it, since it's a lot of keys at the same time :D

Submitted(+1)

Damn i love the lighting effects, I can barely even recognise it's the same tileset, it looks so cool! Also i loved the magnetic pull, as i managed to put down one ladder and drag a giant gem with me and it essentially made me fly up my paths haha, i was loads of fun! Very well polished!

Developer

The flying was accidental and then it was somehow so much fun flying around that I kept it in .. :D Thank you so much for playing!

I didn't have the best time playing this (mostly because I forgot the instructions, oops) but I can tell what a good piece of work this is. The sounds, the visuals, the controls are all well done. I only got one ending but my lack of ability and the random appearance of spikes just made it not so fun for me. Still, it's a really impressive project for 48 hours and it's clearly a well-made game. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Don't worry about it, not every game is for everyone. That's why I enjoy jams so much, I get to play lots of games that I'd never touch because I suck so much at them :D Thank you so much for playing and the feedback!

I have given a couple of tries to your game, didn't go too far (mostly because my keyboard doesn't have a qwerty layout so it's more finger gymnastics haha). But I enjoyed the mechanics and the overall feel of the game.. I could figure out what to do without a tutorial after a few tries, and that is a good sign that the game world makes sense in my opinion.
Cool entry!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! Technically the arrow keys should work for movement .. but the alphanumerical keys for abilities/objects are fixed. Maybe qwertz or azerty could work but dvorak or more exotic layouts could be difficult :D

Submitted(+1)

I have an azerty keyboard, the "q" is where "a" would be for you so I kept putting torches everywhere (while think of moving leftwards) and blocking my own ladder ways :)  I'll give it another shot with arrows

Submitted(+1)

Holy moly it so good! The polish is awesome.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! :D

Very polished and very engaging. Nice tutorial. Great work!

Developer

Wow, polished as heck! I had quite a few emergent gameplay moments with floating on stuff, that feels awesome. If it's possible, I'd love to see more of an emphasis on escaping someplace by riding on a bone, like can so often happen here! XD

I agree that controls could have been streamlined more, which may be a matter of expressing them differently or combining/removing a few options and combining them with movement somehow. Sometimes, it's a matter of giving the player a specific perspective on how they view the controls, so that, for example, they aren't constantly tempted to jump.

With that said, though, I really enjoyed the punchy little mining sounds, the robot's quips, and the overall mechanical feel. If you've got juice in the tank, run with this thing. Nice!

Thank you so much for playing and the feedback!

I like that you have several endings..
Sounds were a bit "sharp", but the shaders are awesome!
Overall nice game, magnetism-mechanic real good..

Developer(+1)

thank you so much! And yes, I need to work on my audio skills :D

Submitted(+1)

Nice game. The controls are a bit hard to remeber during the first playthrough. Still, it's fun to play!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! :D

Submitted(+1)

Cool game! loved the idea! Found myself attempting to jump, but the game makes more sense without the jump mechanic. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I thought about having a jump but decided against it .. still tried to jump every time when testing.. we're just so used to jumping in platformers I guess :D

Submitted(+1)

It's like second nature! haha

Submitted(+1)

An interesting mining game, I thought it was neat that the artifacts are physics enabled and that the lighting effects were a nice touch.

Falling is freedom :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! :D

I liked that the spikes appeared in already excavated areas, that was cool, unexpected and kept it more engaging. Although i wish the hit box on the spikes was smaller, there was times when I thought i hadn't gotten that close and died.

Also I think having either the controls on screen all the time or maybe hitting tab to toggle a controls info box would be helpful. I had to scroll down and reference it on the page.

In short... I dig it! (see what i did there? lol ok i'll see myself out)

Developer

Thanks! Yes, I should definitely have decreased the hitbox on the spikes, seems like a common complaint :D

Thanks for playing!

Cool twist on an existing genre, the magnet doesn't obey newton's third law, I would like to be able to dig up as well.
