Simply amazing. I would never have imagined that this was produced in 48 hours. There are a ton of features implemented - minimap, day-night cycle, procedural generation, just to name a few. The tutorial was very well done, with indicators telling you where to go even off-screen. That lonesome music playing in the background as I scour around for animals and resources for my farm, sprinting to the shop to sell my produce and earn money for my upgrades, all of it feels amazing; it fits the setting and theme very well. Even the little door opening as I enter the farm feels great. The user interface is extremely polished, very clear and easy to understand. There are also good game design choices, like just showing where the wasps would be coming from, the slow and steady increase in the amount of wasps, allowing a short period of time before exploding, and the way the prices are set up to enable the decision-making of choosing what types of produce to make and sell (and also whether to actually go to the market or stay at the farm). Because the days are short enough and will need the player to defend the barn at night, the repetitive farming doesn’t feel tedious as you can’t do everything in one day; choices have to be made especially later on in the game.

I had a blast playing this and was mostly in awe. It feels like a fully completed game. I couldn’t think of a single criticism.

Wow, that is such a kind review! I'm blown away by how much you liked it! A lot of care went into the balance and speed of the game, so I'm happy it paid off and made a good experience for you. Thank you so much!

Wow man, this is a top 10 entry for sure. The sheer amount of content and game functionalities you managed to implement in 48 hours is crazy! Most of the games in this jam are on the scale of only 1 of your mechanics.
Really, amazing job. The music also fits in perfectly and is very moody.

Developer

Thank you so much, that really means a lot! And I'm glad you liked the music as well :)

Wow, thats some overscoping for gamejam! That's a lot of content, well done! I had some real lag issues in web version, but desktop version is running fine.

Developer

Thanks for the review! Sorry you had some problems with the web version - I don't think there's very much I can do about that - but I'm glad you got the desktop version to work in the end

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, I know. My game had issues in web as well, so I decided not to  publish it at all.

Great game! It's so polished and detailed, it's a ready product, I believe!

I will play it more and maybe give you more feedback, but for now I was just purely enjoying this.

Nice job!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you, I'm happy you found it enjoyable and look forward to hearing your feedback!

hey men, nice game, the mechanichs feels pretty nice, at first was a little strange cause its not allways the same keyboard to make the action (like putting goods in barn) but after a couple of times I got used to it. Ithink was this game need is motivation to keep playing, like an objective, cause at certain part you ask yourself why are you playing. After that the game its pretty good

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! The sort of objective in this game is to get the highest score possible, since the nights get harder and harder each night. The click/space combo was an odd choice, I agree, and I will think about how to make that more simple if I update after the jam!

Submitted(+1)

Tjere's an incridible number of mechanics and features implemented for the jam time. A lot of atention to details too. One of the best overall games so far.

Developer(+1)

Wow, thank you! That means a lot!

This game is rad. Straight-forward, thematic, and addicting. I kept losing but wanting to do better. If  I were to nitpick, I'd say sometimes the UI is confusing (you hit "spacebar" to use the windmill but click on objects in the barn/storage). Also, I didn't really see an incentive to make bread, since it didn't seem to sell for more than cheese, even though tilling the ground and watering the wheat are extra steps.

Developer

Thank you, I'm so happy you liked it! Agreed that the UI could be clearer, would have been nice to include some animated indicators for certain controls and inputs, but the time limit didn't allow it for myself. The bread vs cheese debate is a hot one; cheese is great if you don't want to have to manage a field all the time, but bread is good if you want to kill all the cows and sell the meat to get a lot of money right at the start. We made cheese and bread the same sell price to allow for different playstyles, but personally I went for cheese when we playtested. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Submitted (2 edits) (+1)

Ahh, ok so the animals do not respawn.  Me and my buddy were wondering. Damn, selling all that meat would be a nice boost in the beginning though, I'll have to give it a try. You also could maybe kill all but 3 cows for an early boost while still getting cheese? Out of curiosity, how many people worked on the game?

Developer

You could just maintain 3 cows, but if your windmill gets fast you will not have enough milk to keep up! This game was made by 2 people - myself on programming, music and SFX, and my friend Fire on art and some of the concepts. It was heavily playtested for balance by us and another friend!

Wow!  That's definitely  one of my favorites in this jam.  Very entertaining and well polished.  I liked how many mechanics you've implemented in such short period of time and they work perfectly.

Developer

Thank you, much appreciated!

This game is really good. Very well polished, interesting mechanics and good fun. Tutorial at the start was much appreciated as it helped a lot understand what needed to be done. Great job!

Developer

Thank you, that means a lot! You're the first person to say they liked the tutorial, I'm glad it was at least helpful for someone!

Ah good old Scunthorpe. I'm not from the UK but I used to always pick them in FIFA.

I love farming games and this one was pretty good - but when you consider the whole thing was made in under 48 hrs it becomes excellent. Seriously well done implementing everything here to such a good standard, very impressive.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback - that means a lot to me! I didn't even know Scunthorpe had a football team haha

Submitted(+1)

Wow great work this game is huge for a jam! Overall very fun and engaging but a little instruction heavy right at the start

Developer(+1)

Thank you, i'm glad you found the game fun! Would have been nice to include a bit more guidance at the start, but I had to move on to other features by the time I'd finished the tutorial, which is why it feels a bit text-wall-y. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Very large game for only 48 hours! Well done. I feel like some of the crops died too fast though. I would plant them then run a quick errand to the town and come back to all dead ):

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Part of the game is feeling like you have to rush everywhere, so if you spend too long selling stuff or buying upgrades, there is a good chance your crops will be dead by the time you get back! The walk speed upgrade is very central in mitigating that. Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, this is such a full game! Great job!
The control scheme takes some getting used to (I kept trying to click on the cows and stuff instead of using space bar, and then I was trying to use the space bar to interact with the town and my barn, instead of using the mouse), but once I got the hang of it, it worked great!
The tutorial was a bit heavy, but with such a complex game, it's hard to avoid that.

I had a really fun time playing the game, really nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Yeah the controls are a bit obscure, something I would change is make it so that all interactions can be done with clicking and the mouse rather than just the shotgun having click detection.

Great job, the music works really well with the play style, and I didn't find any bugs

Developer

Thank you! I'm happy you liked the music. We spent a lot of time playtesting to iron out any bugs, I'm glad nobody has found any yet!

Submitted(+1)

everything looks really good, and work really well,  enjoyed playing it, one of my favorites

Developer

Thank you, that means a lot to me!

Submitted(+1)

Very ambitious game for a 48h jam! It is full of things to do. The music and SFXs fail sometimes, but nothing specially anotying. Everything else feels great and it's a pleasure to play :)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! The music and SFX probably messed up if you were on the web build, I'm not sure if there's much I can do about that but I'm certain that they all work in the native version!

Submitted(+1)

Awesome game, and super well polished. I really liked the minimap, fits with the game style and add a professional look to it. Great job!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! That minimap is one of my proudest features, alongside the world generation. The game basically just passes the world seed to the map and generates an image with the same noise settings as the world generation, and it worked out really well!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Felt like a little world with so much to do. Almost too much to do. Music was most excellent. Also, good job on the video!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback, it sounds like you have made the most of the game! Thanks for watching the video too, I have no plans to gain any sort of YouTube following but I thought it might be fun to make a little video about our game haha

Submitted(+1)

This was really impressive.  A lot of mechanics going on, and everything felt polished!

Developer

Thank you, glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Wow. So much content! The most polished I have played so far.

The tutorial is a bit long and hard to remember, but gameplay is so intuitive that I was able to figure it out myself.

Music is great too. Cheers!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you found the gameplay intuitive, the tutorial something that a lot of people have mentioned but at least you found your way in the end. Thanks for the feedback!
