Use of the limitation
By "winning" (entering the correct code), you actually die. If you keep on losing by entering the wrong code (or no code at all, to save time), you continue on!

Gosh I don't think my lawyer would want me to answer that

I like the art-style and sound design, but I do have to say that it's not very engaging. I'd love to see this concept added on to with some sort of puzzle mechanic. Nice demo!

Developer

thank you very much! That was the goal. I might come back to it some time :)

As a level of a puzzle game could be fine. I know that 3 days is a short period to make a game or a demo, but I dont understand what is the goal of the player. It is true that I knot that I have to enter a code, but maybe with a brief description of the context to have a better idea would help me to rate the game.

On the other hand, I like the music you made and the graphics remember me to Papers, please. Really cool!

For sure, I apologize that it was a confusing experience. I agree it didn't really become a 'game'. What I did however is put notes on the title screen and then the computer text does tell you after 4 or 5 wrong tries that the correct code is actually displayed on the screen, and where to find it :)
I appreciate the feedback so much!

Really nice graphic. Tho I am not having a lot fun, is there no other way to enter the correct code besides guessing?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Sorry for the frustration. Very early on, after about 4 or 5 incorrect guesses, the correct code actually appears on the screen and the computer tells you where it is (in the black square that looks like an old pc screen in the bottom left- it's dark gray text but it's there!).

But no, there's not a lot of "fun" here, it's more of just a silly little toy that gets mad at you. :)

Stylish, Cool, Abstract. Love It! Well Done!

Thanks so much Bertie!

Thank you so much! Yes, a toy is very much what it ended up being, much better name for it than a game. :)
I have never heard of thecatamites, but I will go look it up right now!

Fun, but really short.

Developer

Thanks for checking it out!  Yeah it's definitely not much of a game, even if you keep going with wrong codes. The restriction of the jam was "winning is losing" so if you just input the correct code, you've won but you also lost. The "game" will go on a while if you keep inputting the wrong code :)

Sound design pretty good. I like the personality of the machine, wheedling and cajoling the player to enter the correct code.

Not really a fully-fleshed game, though, unless I'm missing something.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing and for taking the time to give feedback.

Definitely not really a 'game', you're right. I didn't make it that far! I envisioned some actual puzzles and not just having a few lines of attitude and kind of a joke ending. But such is the life of a game jam entry! :)

everyone telling u nice things here just wants you to vote up for their games, visuals are ok maybe for some other game, right here you cant really spot things you would need to spot, its all happening too fast for me i didn't know what to do what too press i didnt see nothing i somehow closed up to my monitor an cm of it too see what it writes on screen, its a good concept to maybe add to an actual game somehow, but by itself i dont like it , also writing bad code really does nothing at all, i can save time by doing nothing too, right? id make graphics little more appealing and easier to actually see anything for start

Thanks for the feedback. It doesn't bother me, but you might want to consider that there's a way to give constructive criticism without being a dick.  Especially since it is your first game jam, that's a shockingly bad attitude.

I agree that the 'game' didn't reach a point where it is 'fun'. Definitely. I got the core concept working and didn't get much further than that. I know it could be confusing as to what you're supposed to do, that's why I added the actual answer right on the screen and had the computer tell you exactly where it was after about 5 wrong answers.

I'm not crazy about the graphics either, but they weren't terribly important to me. I just decided to make my own graphics quickly this time instead of working with someone else or using pre-made assets.

Thanks for checking it out! Good luck to you.

Haha, Nice music and effects when you put a wrong code there. Looks really cool :D

Developer

Thanks so much!  I'm fond of the music as well, I appreciate that. I wish I'd had another week or so to work on this and make it actually a 'game'. hehe. Thanks again for playing, I will be playing yours later today! (Too many kids screaming in my house! )

The graphics are so original, more puzzles

Developer

Thank you very much. I tried to make the graphics be kind of a retro-but-not-really kind of  mess, and I'm glad some people liked it :)
I wish there had been more to it as well, perhaps I will return to it one day

This was an interesting game, but it seemed rather short. Visuals and music worked well though. Keep it up!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I agree, I'm sad by how short the end result had to be. I really appreciate your feedback :)

That was pretty cool and weird, my head hearts from to much clicking, nice idea.

The graphics were ok, the music and the sounds were nice.

Nice job and keep up the good work! :D
