Overall this was really fun, I liked the physics and the challenge of beating your previous time :)

I think there was a little bug with the pull. The angle the frog is pulled at seems to be based on the angle you latched onto something at, rather than your angle when you try to pull.  So if you're by the ceiling and latch onto it, then swing down and pull, you get pulled sideways rather than up.

I love the way the frog tumbles around! The level design is really clever to it likes to trap you a lot!

This was very very unexpected and awesome…. These are the games which make you come again and again and beat yourself…

The idea, design, mechanics, art were all very very amazing…. The elastic launch feeling was very well implemented…

Couple of Pointers:

  1. Music - for this type of game a more enthusiastic music would have been nice… You know since it’s a timer based, a sense of hurry kinda music would encourage and engage player more…

  2. Particle Effects - Some simple particle effects while colliding, throwing tongue, landing etc

  3. Further Ideas : a. Obstacles / Ungrappable objects - would make it more challenging, to not collide into some and predict your path before launching… b. Bonus - some background life, flies etc which you may or may not grapple(maybe flies to eat for fun / extend tongue further)

Overall very nice game…. Enjoyed it… Would love if you play and rate mine too :)

Enjoyment: Ight so I was expecting another grappling hook tongue mechanic thing, and that's what i got, except the mouse only controls was fresh enough and the very physics heavy mechanics that came from the levels boxes & tree trunks actually made it SO much more fun than the other examples of this concept, that I feel this is the instant winner.  The only thing that got in the way of that was that I felt the controls weren't as responsive as I would've liked.  I don't know if there is a delay when it comes to reeling in after you've hooked onto to something, but that needs to be conveyed or made way faster, cause it was really annoying when i was spam clicking the mouse to launch myself and only on the 4-5th time did it finally go? I felt like that was the only thing deterring me from spending the whole damn night getting that time down to 5 seconds lol

Concept: The concept of the grapple hook frog tongue has been quite over done in this jam as a whole, but, the execution in that this was meant to be a speed running type experience and the way the tongue could also latch onto physics objects really worked well together.  Felt like it was tightly designed for that experience.

Presentation:  Very slick and playful, it instantly felt warm to the touch when I booted the game up, you could tell that there was a lot of fun that was had when making it, and seeing the frog flip around as it bounced off the landscape was hilarious to watch.  Never threw a frog around before but god damn, so worth.

Use of Limitation:  Making it a single level structured to influence you to try to speed run was clever enough that I think it wouldn't have taken a lot of time to build and creates a really powerful loop that makes you wanna try it over n over.

Thank you for your amazing review!
I've implemented a 1sec cooldown with the hook to avoid spamming, you're right the delay is too long.
We had a lot of fun making this game, and Marijenburg did an amazing job with menu art!
I really think I'll continue this game.

No problem! Def continue working on it.

I was actually thinking that this game would benefit from being a click & hold system right than multi click.  It would flow better I think to click and hold and release to launch urself, simplify the controls and make you feel more connected to the mechanic itself, which is to shoot out the tongue and HOLD ON as you HOLD UR FINGER DOWN kinda deal

Developer

If think you're totally right, it would work much better with click & hold, especially for a mobile game.
Thanks for your help!

Really fun mechanic! Getting up a good speed was really challenging but felt incredibly satisfying when you finally accomplished it! Just a heads up, the restart is bugged and just resets the timer and doesn't actually restart the level

Nice game. Took a little bit to get used to mechanics but once you get used to it you can go fast. Nice graphics too!

this guy said me and my fiends submission was good but using the amount of time he had, WOW

Nice game, good graphics and physics. Got 31.35s.

Really cute and fun game!! I when I would press restart at the end the game would just freeze, but other than that, I really liked it :DD

Thank you!

is 35s any good?

Had a lot of fun, the lifeless frog body just flopping around was a nice touch :P

The menu art clashes a bit with the game aesthetic, but that's a minor gripe, overall very well made, with more levels this could really be something fun ;d

Developer(+1)

35s is pretty solid! Dev time is 29.83s.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll check your game.

Nice aesthetics, good sounds and satisfying effects. Nothing special about the limitation but overall pretty fun.
