Gg! Congratz on first place!

Developer

Many thanks! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

Stunning! The controls are incredibly responsive and satisfying, it's just difficult enough, and the graphics and music are gorgeous. It's very well polished for being made in just three days, I'm blown away.

Developer

Many thanks Glass Jar ^^

For an inspiration of Sonic MegaDrive, this was really spot on! I love the nostalgic feeling you gave by recreating the Sonic spin with the control! The gameplay was extremely phenomenal and really fun to play! The art and music was simply beautiful as well and fit perfectly for the scenario of the game as well.  I have no suggestions or any bugs I found, so all I can say is amazing job on this game!

Amazing entry! and the fact that its solo developed is amazing. Im doing video feedback/first impressions/ feed back.

Developer(+1)

Hey Prinny, thank you so much for your video review!

You say so many things in your video so i'm not sure if I'll can remember everything, but there we go.

A little of backstory first: The first thing I draw for the game was the halo, the chest and every kind of coin that the chest drops, and then went back to unity and did the whole score system xD the game wasn't planned to be as it is. I was thinking about making a classic platformer  and then I had the idea of rhe current game mechanic. But i decided to keep the score because at the end of each section, the player has something that feels like a reward. But it only works the first playthrough as i see ^^"

Another thing I should say is that the score is generated almost randomly, every coin has a different value and then chest spawns them randomly, I only have control over the quantity from the unity editor... So yep, the score doesn't matter, is only there to give the player the thought that he is winning something.

I'm currently developing a menu and a timer as a "New game +" functionality because literally everyone close to me tried to "speedrun" the game xD.

The fact that you tried to click the main screen insteat hitting "enter" made me thought that you're right, if the whole game is controlled with the mouse, why the title screen shouldn't be aswell?

I'll test things with the background, maybe using something like a gradient blue, because maybe it's too bright.

And by the way, the music "pause" isn't made with the volume control. It uses "music.unpause()" give it a check ^^

Thanks again for the video and the review! I'm so deeply grateful

haha no problem, making the video is easier than  making a game. The end of sections reward part is a really good idea, going with sonic Inspiration you could combine it with a timer, that way the coins still feel good but also collecting them fast and moving on could be a factor, the end of level time can be converted to more score or what not.

Don't worry to much about the back ground tbh it never got in the way of gameplay. I tend to nitpick great game more since I have many more nice things I could say about the game.

Developer(+1)

You should check the game again, I think your video has been outdated ^^

Incredible Polish! It's such a complete package already. Thanks for making it, I had fun and enjoyed that yellow/blue palette, the music, everything!

The pixel art is good and the music is a banger!

The gameplay is that kind of gameplay that is hard and addicting at the same time, and its well equlibrated!

(+1)

I really like the pixel art and sound, the game play is kind unique( very good).

I personally like more games with level transition, but your game is really good

But i thing that with a small story would be a way better

(sorry for my bad english, i am brazilian)

Thanks for the feedback Gladiador ^^
And don't worry I can perfectly understand you.
This time I wanted to opt for a checkpoint system instead of separated levels, and the story could be more complex but I was running out of time and literally had to make the story dying of fatigue ;-;

gotta try your game by the way! ^^

Awesome music fitting the nice design, a simple game but mechanics making it both frustrating and addictive!

Hey ED! Good to see you again.

I was waiting for your next game a long time. Haha! Another jam, another greaty entry.  Your games are very polished and well done.  I played it and finished  3 times in a row. lol. So funny and enjoyable.

I cannot rate this time, but you have my 5 stars: *****

Developer(+1)

I think one word is enough: perfect.

You could have added a small instructions part though. I really liked the music.

Please do check my game.

Super Iteresting idea, reminds me of "Getting over it" for some resson, maybe becuase of the difficulty, I couldent manage to finish the saw tunnel thingy, I felt like it was a bit too fast.

but good job anyway!

Submitted(+1)

Excellent game! The difficulty was fairly high in some places so I didn't manage to complete it, but it was definitely very fun to play. Nice job!

Submitted(+1)

Amazing concept and implementation. It was challenging but addictive, and the level design was really well done. That tunnel area was tough, and I managed to beat the game. Good use of checkpoints too. A few times I died because I ended up clicking out of the game window because of how close to the top I had to click, so I think a few areas like the zig zagging spike area toward the end would benefit by a camera that moves a bit up the closer you get to the end of it. Music was fun and energetic, reminds me of Sonic. Great entry!

Submitted(+1)

Fantastic job! I love the Sega inspired art and music and the difficulty felt perfect. It's hard but I never felt like the game cheated me. The camera was a bit awkward in a few spots, but overall fantastic experience.

Submitted(+1)

Really liked the movement mechanic even though it took me a death to realize I could charge it (Maybe I should've read the instructions lol)

It was challenging and the color palette you used looked very good! Great job!

Developer

Thank you! ^^

Submitted(+2)

Excellent game! Movement is very polished and the visuals are good. I'd love to know if you made the music yourself, because it's great! Only minor issue I found is the camera. In a few places you can't see what's ahead.

Here's an example (You can't really see how much further the spikes on the ceiling go):

Other than that I think it's quite enjoyable game. Great entry!

Developer(+1)

Hey Virtu, the music is from public domain except for the sound effects that i've made using bfxr, sorry for the camera issue, i will try to solve the problem with the camera and that zone after the voting period ^^

I love the colors you picked for this. It looks really nice, and there are cool visual details, like the color change of the pod based on how many charges you still have. I don't usually like characters controlled by physics, though, they are often too slippery and unpredictable. I'd love to see a game like this with custom player movement!
