That was exhausting... got a little bored ngl

The game could use more atmosphere. Sounds, music something like that. The "void shard"  causes tension, but due to the fact that there is no end it kind of fizzles out. Basically a game with way more levels than the game play variety can support.

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Yeah, work on the atmosphere is sorely needed! That's definitely on the pipeline.

Exhaustion and boredom are the thematic goal as would befit the title but with the current level of  polish and content I understand how it would come off as bland and under cooked.

Again, thank you for your time! :)

I appreciate your comment.

No no, I understand that exhaustion is the feeling that you try to convey. In a sense it is very successful at it (perhaps even too good?)

The thing that I would like to see is something in addition to that theme, be it gameplay or story wise. I mean if the only thing that you get from a game is exhaustion it just is not a good game. If you want to build your career on indie titles you need good word of mouth. Not exactly a thing you get if the only thing people can say about the game is "yeah it was exhausting to play, but the sprites were kinda cute"

Jam games are always under cooked, that's why I am always declaring mine as prototypes. I like it that you take criticism well. The jam goal (at least for me) is to get a different aspect of my games criticized. That way I know that I made progress.

Also I just noticed that you participated in the mix and game jam. You got insomnia yourself? Madlad makeing two games in two days. Hope the other game didn't suffer too much...

Developer

Oh yes, they suffered! So did I. 😂 Never participating in multiple game jams with deadlines so close to each other again, haha!

Got briefly acquainted with insomnia for about a month. Thought I'd make it a game.

Ah yes, I understand now. I'll see what else I can design around it. I do have story beats and an ending planned which I never got to implementing. Maybe we'll see it in a few.

I'll also think along the lines of what else people can say about the game.

Thanks so much for the support! :)

game doesn't have an ending yet..  for now consider it ends when you can't sleep anymore.
