The concept of the game is top notch, I really enjoyed the setting and the graphics (the black hole was so cool, I gotta say)! The music was really nice, it reminded me to invest in it more next I do something. The negative side of this game is that the jump of difficulty is immense between the two stages, I could barely finish the second one nicely in relation to the first (but that may be me). It wasn't very intuitive what each lever, button or tile did, so it messed the reasoning and logic of the stage. Great job!
I agree with making it less difficult -I'll make sure to take into account any difficulty spikes in future game jams. I originally decided to make the second level harder because we did not have time to develop a third level and wanted something that would take more time, but perhaps we should've opted to remove some hazards here.
And when we develop this game more, i'll be sure to put wires between switches and the objects they effect to make it more obvious what they do -thank you for the feedback! Greatly appreciated.
Also the music was free - not composed by either of us. The link to the site we got it from is in our game page description.
Really fun game! The concept and lore are very cool and the gravity effect is a nice mechanic, but I couldn't get through the difficulty spike from the first level to the second. I liked that there was a good variety of traps to get the little blue men, but I couldn't which buttons and levers did what, and I had no clear indication of the the direction the blue men would move. It is a great concept any way!
Thanks for the feedback : )
when we develop this more later, maybe we can put arrows on the ground to show the directions the little blue men will take more clearly.
And yes, we'll try to make the levels/buttons more obvious next time.
Neat game! I liked the little intro at the start and the puzzles were pretty well designed. The music was also really good for the game as well, adding a bit of urgency and tension. The only thing I would recommend is some kind of pop-up when all of your blue men die, as in the first level I spent a couple of minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't get my guy to move (obviously after he had been hit with a laser). Good job!
Thanks for the feedback and compliment - and good idea we'll be sure to add this when we develop it more.
And thanks for the compliment on the music selection. It was free however, and not created by us - you can find the link on the game's page
the concept is awesome. its hard but its a good game
Thanks!
Ideally, we were going to have three levels of increasing difficulty - however only had a few hours left in the jam, so decided to just make the second level more challenging to increase play time. Will definitely make the difficulty more gradual if we decide to develop it more :)
That's a pretty good puzzle mechanic! I also appreciate the little lore intro.
Appreciate the compliment - this is our first game jam. looking forward for more
