took me a bit to get the wall jumping going good was a pretty hard game even after that. Hard to control the player in the air but good go at your game to you and your team.

Simple but competent pixel art.

The same cannot be said about gameplay: the game's physics is badly adjusted. I really like challenging platforms, but yours take away the players's freedom when prevents controlling speed when we jump. This makes the character movements uncomfortable and spoils the player's fun. There are smarter ways to make a difficult but fun game.

In addiction, some sections prevents our progress with some weird "invisible walls" and the player's speed need some polish.

An positive point was the wall jump: remember me "Super Metroid" on snes, which is hard but pleasant to master.

The choice to prevent controlling speed mid air was made intentionally.  Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it.

There should not be any invisible walls.  If you believe you have found one perhaps you can send me a screenshot?

I appreciate the criticisms and thank you kindly for trying and rating the game.

A very difficult but fun game. Learning to perform the wall jump accurately took some time, but once I got the hank of it it felt great. The art is very cute, I just miss some matching music. Personally I would make the controls a little bit more forgiving e.g. still give the player some freedom to change direction after starting a jump, because it is often difficult to predict where the player will land before jumping.

Appreciate the feedback!  I had planned on composing no less than 3 tracks for this project and designing custom sound effects, but the deadline came up faster than anticipated.  The game was intended to be quite difficult, and the wall jump mechanic rewarding to master.  The movement code was originally much more forgiving before our masochistic tendencies led us to the current result.  So glad you were able to find some enjoyment.  Thank you for playing and for providing feedback!

I found the controls a little wonky when holding up  against the wall and jumping but other than that a fun and challenging little platformer

Some tweaking could potentially help the platforming feel more consistent, but we are happy you found it pleasing in the current state.  We appreciate you taking the time to play & comment.

This game is actually BEASTIN'!

Man this game is HARD, mostly because if your path is interrupted your sprite travels vertically. Other than that though, it's very pretty and fun to play! I love the idea of reversing the color palette.

Appreciate the feedback here.  I was going to stick to the original 6 until my teammate showed me the inversion, and it just clicked.  The difficulty was intentional but we reckon some quality of life tweaks could potentially help the platforming feel more consistent.  Thanks for giving it a try!
