the shop REALLY doesn’t fit within the default presented game window, so it took me a long time to figure out how to Try Again. aside from that, it’s a pretty fun little game. i think it could be improved by not letting the green guys dash through walls tho

Oh ok, I didnt test that tbh, I always click the fullscreen button. I think I'm gonna have to learn unity ui a bit more to make stuff responsive :P

Nicely done, enjoyed this game

As a feedback - oftentimes the mobs are spawned outside of your field of view and it feels somewhat odd to revisit the start of location since you just got out of there

Developer

I agree, thanks for your feedback!

Very cool game. I gotta say that long sword max attack speed is op. It will be more lively if there is a bit more aggressive sound and music too.

nice game! I like the clean pixel art and the controls are responsive, the enemies are aggressive and will attack within a short range,  I also like the shop for upgrades , this game is challenging and has good replay value, keep it up!

I know it ended up looking a little unfinished in places (shop UI and sound particularly) due to overscoping, but nonetheless I feel like the game systems and unique concept you were able to make were pretty cool for the amount of time you had. The presentation looked really nice as well. Good job!

This is a cool game for sure. With some more time and polish you could have an incredible game. I really appreciate that your money is always your high score and not just your previous round score.

Very nicely done! I like combat mechanics, I like visual language and overall it is a good game considering it's a 3 day jam entry. Could really use some sound effects.

I enjoyed this one a lot! It was really fun. Really missing sfx, though - would help a lot with making the game feel more lively

Developer

Sadly didnt have time to add sound effects, had to cut a lot of content due to overscoping.

I really enjoyed the game! Fun and immersive, it just lacked sound effects and a theme song, which I missed. Other than that the excitement continues!

I don't know if I could feel the theme in the game, but the limitation, for sure!

This is SO COOL! I took several tries to get a higher highscore. I fell totally in love with the fact, that this was no rogue like. That I have to buy the upgrades every time I die from zero to hero is such a great idea. And the sword swing mechanic is totally cool. In the first place I thought, I had to swing the sword by mouse movement against enemies, until I discovered the mouse click :D

Thank you! Btw you don't lose any progress on death, your previous upgrades basically get turned back into money so you could buy all the same upgrades again. This is so you can change your setup if you like for each run. I just put out an update which adds a description and some other QOL features to make it more obvious.

Pretty cute, but lacking features, put more time into and  I would love to see the results!

Check out my live review of your game at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

Edit: you added some of the features I asked for and they gel nicely. Well done!

Hey thanks for playing! I watched the VOD and you gave some really solid feedback there!

I know that the game really needs some polishing, especially scene transitions and showing what floor you are on. Also noticed you didnt get very far into the game (not even to the first boss fight), which is totally fair because I probably made a session of the game take too long. I know for small game jam games it should aim to be around 10 minutes, I think this game might take 30 or so.

I really overscoped with this one, therefore I had to cut a lot of content. I originally planned to add more weapons, abilities like dash, fireball spell or something, different enemies etc..). I will probably make some QOL changes today so UI/UX is a little better at least. Also change balancing probably to make the game shorter so people get to the boss fights :P

Btw I made the art all myself from scratch for this jam, just wanted to note since you mentioned asset packs.

Your rating seems really fair too, I am glad you liked the art :) Enjoyment is understandably low, more movement options would make the game a lot more satisfying. Your suggestion of blocking attacks is really interesting, probably gonna mess around with trying that.

Edit: Forgot to mention sound effects, not much to say about it other than that I had no time :P
Edit 2: Btw the shop resets your abilities every time you die, so you can spend your high score tokens on different upgrades (if wanted). You don't lose progress because you can always spend whatever your highest score is. Didnt explain that anywhere so gonna add a disclaimer / description somewhere.

Hello again! I published a QOL update to fix some of the issues you mentioned, would love to hear your feedback!
