I really like this game, it's like a vampire pacman. With some particle effects it could be really nice. The only thing was sometimes you could get stuck on the wall if you were too close. Otherwise a fine game for your first attempt!
Thanks :)
not bad for the first game. There is very little gameplay and mechanics for such a game.
Thank you, yes i didnt have as much time as i wanted to work on it. next time will be better i hope haha
Pretty good for it being your first game! Was able to beat it on my first try. Would be cool if maybe there were other collectibles or a more varied level design!
Thanks! Yeah was planning on adding buffs and de buff collectables just ran out of time lol
well I was able to beat it on my 2nd try that sun is deadly not sure if you can survive more then one hit from the sun it does make multiple hit sounds when it touches you but I killed me tried to mess around after winning the game with it. Other then the game not having much variation on the level design which is hard to do much about in a game jam with limited time the player seems to get stuck well walking near the walls every so often not much of a problem but could be annoying if it get you killed.
Thanks for playing. Yeah the sun hitting multiple times/pushing the player after collision was annoying. I think it had something to do with disabling the player controller after collision. also know about getting stuck on the wall, has something to do with tile map box collider but i couldnt figure that out.
ah yeah a collider just sticking out a little further then the rest for some reason or another when I made a grid based game a few jams ago I had issues like that as well sigh.
it was last minute that i learned i could add the box collider to the tiles, i was just manually making them, so didn't get a chance to troubleshoot it lol
no problem its just good that you were able to learn some new stuff
Fun micro-game!
I beat it on my second try. The design is pretty uniform so I was able to develop a strategy to beat it on the second run.
For critiques, some variety to the level design would go a long way, or multiple levels. The game functions fine as is, which is good! but the mechanics are a little basic. As others have said, some stats on the game over screen would be nice, such as time to complete.
Overall, good job!
Thank you for playing :). yeah i struggled with level design so that's what im going to focus on learning before my next game. i was also worried that i wouldn't finish in time so rushed through and omitted a few features that i had in mind.
Hey :) Just deleted my comment, because I think there was a mix-up with the submission page and a game I was playing. This game was simple but a lot of fun! I had an issue though that sometimes the vampire would just stop with no reason, which made it very hard :(
thanks :). yeah noticed that too when I tested I believe it could be an issue with the box collider on the tile map, because when I just had an empty game object as the box colliders there was no issue. Ran out of time by the time I discovered this :(
not best, but still nice game.
just need a polish.
good job for your first game!
thank you :)
Good first entry, keep it up!
I don't know why but i didn't manage to run the game :(
Edit: i changed browser and got it working. First of all: the music is an absolute banger, I love it! The game itself may need some polishing, but the concept is great and overall it's very enjoyable. Keep it up! btw, if you have spare time I'd love to get some feedback on my game too
thanks for playing, sure I will be checking out more games today
Neat little entry! great music.
thanks
The level design was too simple, but beating the game was still fun. Also,I love the music. It definitely adds to the tension when the blood sun is getting closer.
Awesome job with your first game jam!
thank you, yes I went with simple because I wanted to make sure I finished the game in time next time I will go a bit harder.
Needs polish. also the player is blurry. Better than some other jam games I've seen though.
yeah definitely also i suck at art and sort of rushed that part of the game with getting sprites.
Felt that! did the same with my game.
