The whole game is so polish in every little details ! the art and animation are deadly cute and the use of limitation is pretty clever~

Thank you so much! It really means a lot coming from you ;_;

I had to try this out with the irresistibly cute cat and pun name.

You did a good job making the most of the simple graphics. I love the way everything almost bounces around as it moves.

My only complaint is that the reset takes a bit too long, because I failed a lot. I also wasn't able to make it very far because I got stuck on one of the puzzles, but that's not the game's fault.

Developer

Aww thank you! ^^

I definitely agree. I think I got too caught up in it already being very short (compared to how it was at the beginning) to realize that it still took too long.

I'm very glad that you still enjoyed the experience though!

What an incredible game experience! The art is cute and spooky, the story is fantastic, and the use of theme and limitation was excellent. What a clever way to make a little cat necromancer puzzle game :)

I love everything about this. The graphical style and UI is incredibly polished, even outside the context of a jam. It’s got this cute isaac-esque vibe that really fits the gameplay well. Opening with a musical nod to Akira Yamaoka hooked me immediately. Gameplay feels good and responsive and the puzzle designs have an excellent difficulty curve. One of the best game jam games I’ve ever played. Fantastic work, can’t wait to try more projects from you.

I’m at a loss for words! Thank you!!

I’m still developing my style (especially graphically) so hearing this makes me so incredibly happy!

I love play on words here! Sadly can't try it rn

Developer

Haha ty! It’s totally okay, hope you get the chance soon^^

Lovely graphics, nice music and gameplay, it would have been great if the animation of restarting level was a little faster, but here rather I should not have died so much :) .

Developer

Thank youuu! I totally agree^^’ They were even slower to begin with but I can tell now I should have sped them up a lot more. I’m glad you still enjoyed it!

The amount of polish seen in the game is insane. Pretty much every button press gives some kind of feedback, both visually and though audio. I really like how the cats actually attempt to move even if it could not. The pops after my deaths are real satisfying too. Levels are nicely done. Even though I did not get very far, I somehow did not feel frustrated at all. Needless to say, the art and audio balancing are very well done.

One main gameplay feature that particularly stood out to me is the fact that the player moves before the ghost, rather than after it. This small difference caused my brain to short-circuit more often than I want to admit. It really made me think how different puzzles can be just by changing one small thing.

Thank you so so much! It really warms my heart!

Yeah, one of my playtesters pointed it out as well and said that people would probably comment on it but we both agreed that it allowed for better puzzle designs^^

Once again, thank you for playing!

I love puzzle games (in fact our game is also a puzzle game), good job!

Developer

So do I! I’ll give it go later today^^

Great game! It's a good example of easy to understand but hard to master. You're using a fairly simple mechanic to great effect, and with a pleasant presentation.

I couldn't manage to get very far, but even from just the few levels I've played, I can see this keeping people entertained for a long time, especially with the new twists on the mechanic.

Overall, just a nice and polished experience. Fantastic work!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words!;_;

The difficulty is definitely high so managing to clear a few is still a really good milestone

This was absolutely fantastic! Hurt my brain, but felt so amazing when I passed each level. Great job with the puzzle design, art style, and overall aesthetic!

Developer

Thank you so much! I’m really glad to hear that you liked it^^

This is a great puzzle game because: atmospheric, pleasant noises, small puzzles demonstrating concepts rather than pattern matching, and simple rules that manage to makes me feel dumb

Developer

I'm delighted you enjoyed the puzzles! It took quite a while to playtest :,D
Thank you so very much for playing and rating ^^

Haha, fun and challenging. Really love the aesthetic and atmosphere! Meow!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it ^^

WOW! This game made me feel so smart then SO dumb. Just when I thought I had conquered the mechanic you throw in the reverse enemies, haha.

Each puzzle had so much personality and utility. I never thought you were challenging me more than once on the same idea.

Sound design is great. Like really great. Every cat meow and every sound from each input gives the game so much personality. The music was also a wonderful touch. It was reminiscent of a Link's Awakening dungeon with a lo-fi/ethereal twist which complimented everything so well.

Visuals are exactly what they needed to be. Cute, distinct, and fitting. The CRT filter paired very well with the music.

Great game!

P.S. - I'm very excited to play Elasticat! :)

The art style of this game is fantastic, the sound design along with it created such an immersive dark mood. Loved it!

That means so much! I'm still totally new to creating my own graphics so this is a huge confidence boost. Thank you! ;_;
