Pretty good game but  it need some variety. All levels feels the same. Plus at the beginning of level 5 when you turn left you just fall out of the map.

Good! Very polished and smooth running! Great controls and good use of the limitation. Nice art and sound design as well! All-in-all, great game, very fun!

This was such a fun game! The gameplay loop is really appealing, the sound effects are like honey in terms of appeal, and the controls make fluid sense. The levels repeat themselves over and over, but the treasure, oh the treasure chests, they make me go deeper and deeper every time. Really good job!

The sfx made this so addictive, really engaged the primate in me :D

It's a clever take on the limitation too-- your main enemy is just yourself getting too greedy and planting lots of explosives at once. The temptations of the game make it easy to get ahead of yourself too!

I played for longer than I care to admit. This is a winner.

great game! I like the art and sounds , the controls are smooth and responsive,  it gives me an immersive experience playing an action game. The mechanics is simple and easy to understand, and the challenge increases appropriately with the levels. Overall, I enjoyed playing! congratulations! keep it up!

Simple and well executed. good job.

It's very fun but because I can just run away from the TNT and never lose any HP, it was fun more in the Cookie Clicker kind of way where I can't stop playing it only because I want to collect more. Still, I'd say it's enjoyable. The juicy camera shake after every explosion helped with that a lot!

I think something that would make it more challenging is if the TNT boxes you place are, instead, creepers living boxes that chase you and light themselves (and stop moving) when they get close enough. That way, you have to lure every explosive to where you want it to light up. Unfortunately, the AI for this is probably too complicated to implement for just a 3-day jam...

Thanks! I know that you could run away to avoid the effect of the blast, but I added a big blast wave that affects the cave and generates debris. I could do it bigger I guess. Also I was tempted to add enemies that you could also blast and the moving TNT is a good idea, but I wanted to stick to “you are your own enemy” so I just relied upons player’s greed. As you said, it’s just three days and in my case I had much less than that.

The debris do balance it out, but the player isn't given enough time to dodge them so it would be unfair if the radius were larger and everything else was the same. There are 2 ways to fix this I can think of - 1) increase the ceiling height, or 2) make the debris fall more slowly. Or maybe a combination of both.

You're right, the explosives being living creatures would take away from the limitation.

cool game! not the most innovative but fun nonetheless. visually it looks pretty nice, although the player is not very readable. i mean you'll be immediately able to tell that it is the player by the bright color and therefore high contrast. but its hard to decipher what exactly the player means to look like.

the music is very pleasing and has that "the good, the bad and the ugly" vibe!

also the game is a little too easy and repetitive in my opinion. you could improve on it with more different powerups like a drill perhaps with which you can remove one single tile per level or smth (so you dont need to place tnt for that single tile wall, run away, wait and come back).

the jump feels like it could use a little more gravity on the decending.

This is an attractive game. The graphics are very cute (although I think the camera might be a little too zoomed out for the player to properly appreciate them), and the sound effects are great. The explosions feel meaty and satisfying, what with the varied SFX, the screen shake, the rubble, etc.

The design choice to allow infinite pickups is an interesting one. In the beginning, it was satisfying, but it reached a point of absurdity when I got to 80 health, and it made sense for me to just sit on top of the explosions rather than run back and forth.

Also, the game could use more variety in the challenge; I got through about 4 levels but didn't see much difference from one to the next (other than the randomly generated terrain & pickups).

Note: On my first playthrough, I had an infinite fall, but the game didn't enter a game over state. I had to refresh the page.

Hey thanks for your words. It’s hard to balance this one in so little time. To fit the limitation I didn’t want to add any enemies to make it harder for the player but I guess that to get the balance right it’s hard. Maybe I could add random damage for rock/tnt hits not just -1. While playing I’ve died too, (if you don’t get any whisky it may happen). Anyway, hey it’s just a roguelike done in 24h.

Very cool game! Smoothly polished and the debris falling when using TNT is a very cool idea to fit the game to the limitation given (alongside with the tnt)

Overall very enjoyable game!

Very nice! I just found a little bug, if you break the left wall at first you fall indefinitely.
The explosions are great!

Fun game and nice presentation! I lost track of time playing this.

Love the VFX and falling debris for the explosions. Looks super cool

Very simple and fun game! Who doesn’t like to blow stuff up?

Super fun game and the explosion is super juice, but I really would wan't to have some way to spam the dynamity (it would probably be horribly broken, but........)

Developer

If you pick TNTs from the chest you can put several dynamites at the same time, multiplying the effect of the blast (two blasts generate another one). I thought *“I should do some brainy puzzle game if I want to get good ratings in this jam…” * but then “nah… the character will move forward blasting the screen.”

I always look forward to your games, especially since you usually hit the nail on the head when it comes to the theme! Gameplay here is pretty straightforward and fun. I had a....blast...playing it! A few small things I noticed though. I managed to blast my way through the floor, and it seemed to just go on forever when I fell through it. I also got dinged a few times by debris that had already fallen on the ground, but could be walked under if it hung over an edge. Sounds and art were very fitting. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Hey thanks for playing. The falling debris sometimes does not hit the player. I left it like that, so the player has to release himself wit tnt and sacrificing health. A bug that became a feature 😂

This is a roguelike in a gold mine where greed can get you killed. As always I didn’t have as much time as I would like to (just a day because I tried other engines along the weekend), so I’m sorry if it’s not super-polished.
