The visuals are cool, and I really like the concept, just a suggestion, maybe try to add a small drift sideway when you get closer to something with hook :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks, glad you liked the concept. A bit of sideways drift near the hook point would definitely be cool.

Fun little game, I really like the sound effect that plays when the sharks start to appear! Great work on finishing your project for the jam

Developer

Thanks. yeah, I was definitely trying to channel that classic Jaws style tension cue when the sharks start showing up.

nice little game, its good to keep a small scope in such jam

everything works well, the buoys do seem, to overlap often which doesn't really matter tbh

good job :)

Developer

Thanks. Yeah, with only 48 hours, I wanted to keep the scope manageable. The buoy overlap is mostly a layering issue.

It’s really cool and very straightforward, built around a single mechanic. I understood the concept, and I liked the upward progression, it works really well.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, glad the progression worked for you. I tried to keep the game focused around the rope mechanic.

Great concept and the vertical format works well. I could see this being adapted to a mobile format with touch controls pretty easily!

Developer

Thanks, that was actually part of the goal. It already works on mobile, so I’m glad the controls came across that way.

I was expecting the shark will jumpscare me 😂🦈, nice rope mechanic!

Developer

Thanks! Guess they weren’t that hungry after all. 🦈

I really like that the game is focused on a single mechanic, and it’s done really well. I think it would be good to add more enemies for the player, because even with a large number of sharks, they’re still quite easy to dodge.

Developer

Thanks, glad the core mechanic worked for you. I’m thinking about doubling the shark count once the rating period is over.

I really liked the presentation the game was simple but well done. I really liked the rope breaking and if you go onto the game for long enough their is more sharks and less to grapple too. Very solid!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks, happy to hear that. The increasing number of sharks and fewer grapple points were meant to reflect the “Strength is inversely proportional to progress” prerequisite.

Nice game dude! even with AI art, You polished it! Love the game
Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah, the AI pixel art isn’t really strict pixel art, so I cleaned up and adjusted a lot of it in Aseprite.
